I installed the MMI interface kit on my 2015 M4 6MT, and I had to run an additional wire and tap into the reverse lamp wire so the camera would turn off (it never had a problem turning on when the car was put into reverse; but it would not turn off after I put it into gear and started driving away... running the extra wire fixes that issue).

I am having an issue with the screen going dark/black when I am driving (when the camera is NOT on). It will fade to black, stay off for about 10 minutes or so, and then come back to life. Everything still works (stereo, navi, etc), but the screen just goes black. Has anyone else had this issue? Any ideas what may be causing it?

Send us an email with your vin and order number to support@bimmer-tech.net and our tech support team will be happy to help.

As for the additional wire that you had to run it's required for manual cars only.

I couldn't wait for Bimmertech, so I went with NAV-TV's unit they just released for 2017+. Finishing up install right now actually. Install was pretty simple, just very time consuming. I was not looking forward to removing the front bumper (front camera install) but surprisingly the bumper comes off very easily.

Any update on how it works?

No complaints at all, works like it's supposed to.

Install was easy (minus finding a place to stash the unit) as you T it off the iDrive knob.

I see that bimmer-tech sells "OEM Integration" kit for our car (2017)
Why did you pick NAV-TV instead?

Aslo, what type of camera on a back (door handle or license plate light)?

And how does it work, does it occupy whole screen when displayed?

Also, if you don't mind, what did you pay for whole set (front + rear). I kind of regret not optioning with Exec pack to begin with, I thought I can get by with ~$500 camera setup...

I got their most expense camera (like an idiot) for both front and rear.

Placed in the same location as OEM - you would think it's OEM.

Yes, it's displayed on the entire screen.

I paid just under $1200 for everthing; unit and two cameras.

I'm sure you could save a few hundred dollars by going with cheaper cameras.

I'm intersted in your setup but that NAV-TV website is horrendous.

Can you list out the part numbers of your system?

No problem.

The install is pretty straight forward and simple.

The most difficult part was finding a place for the unit; I chose to put it in the area above the glove box behind the trim.

Naviks just released 2017 compatible interface. No coding either. Will try that as it will be considerably cheaper

Here is a pic of my front camera kneeling down. Can't see it standing up, but then again my car is pretty low.

Here is my ghetto-rigged mount, made from scraps I had around the garage. Hard to tell, but I basically made a bracket to elevate and angle the camera.

So clean! I definitely need this in my life!
