Wheels look amazing.

Are you positive the front offsets are correct. What type of spacer are you running and how big?

Nice user id btw

Thx isn't that a big differential between front and back? It would throw the DSC off....no?

Switching to a 35 profile tire from the factory 40 is what makes most of the difference in overall diameter even though he moved up to a 295 size. The 295/35/18 tire is actually 0.6" smaller in overall diameter compared to a 275/40/18 tire. However, I would be reluctant to run a 295 tire on a 10" wheel as its the bare minimum size allowed with 10.5" being preferred.

Is it possible or ok to run 265 40 & 295 40 on 9.5/10.5 18s?

I'm wondering why ppl are going with 35 profiles for street use on 18s when it's possible to run chunkier tires.

Those sizes should fit perfectly.

The choice to move to a 35 profile tire likely has to do with space (40 profile will be taller and may rub if lowered) and general availability as not every width is available in a 40 aspect ratio. I like the chunky tire look though and run 285/40 on my factory 18" rear wheels.

Good to know. Might eventually run a set of 18s for summer as well.

Aesthetically speaking will the 18s in 265 40 show more fender gap compared to the 265 40 19?

Yes that is correct. That is why the oem 18s use a 40 profile tire and the oem 19s use a 35 profile tire as they have the same overall diameter. I dont think many people will run a 40 profile 19" tire as that is larger than oem and may look strange, not to mention affect traction control.

Got ya. The 265/40/18 and 265/35/19 will show the same fender gap and both have the same overall diameter of 26.3".

What brand tires are you running? I want to run 265/40 and 285/40/18 but all I can find in that size is the new Continentals Extreme Contact Sport. Not that there is anything wrong with the conti's but, would like to have a few more choices before pulling the trigger on new wheels (currently have 666). Thanks

Thats exactly what I am running, the Continental ECS were the only ones available in 285/40/18. I still have the oem 255/40 PSS in the front but will replace them with the continentals when they are worn.

Hi all,
Will a 255/45r18 fit if not lowered. I am seeing the overall diameter of the tire at 27" and the stock size rear is 26.7" for the brand I am looking at. Any issues you think? TIA!

You are talking about the front I assume? Why would you run a 255/45 over a 255/40?

I found some A/S tires for a pretty good deal but they don’t make a 255/40...so that’s why I asked. No worries though I’m just going to go with another brand.

Yea I def wouldn't recommend a 45 profile tire, would be way too tall.
