Carbahn tune

Who has a carbahn tune in CA?

Any issues passing smog?

What kind of hp are you making?

How’s the power band?

Did you opt for their warranty?

Any info is appreciated. Thinking about it for my dct zcp

Thanks

CA checks for oem ecu software during an emissions/smog test. The oem ecu software CVN and checksum values don’t match aftermarket ecu software CVN and checksum values.

The Carbahn oem base measured whp number is one of the lowest values that I’ve seen reported and, unless I missed it, the type of dyno used to measure whp is not stated. A base 364 whp to a stage 2 533 whp (169 whp gain) on stock turbos and 93 oct fuel is a questionable gain. E30 and e85 ecu tunes on stock turbos typically produce around a peak of 530 and 550-560 whp, respectively. So their 93 oct tune puts down power that’s equal to other tuner’s e30 tunes? As for the power band, the stock turbos keep the peak power output between 5500-5700 rpm. You need new turbos/turbo if you want to push peak power above 6000 rpm or tune for a more linear power band. I actually enjoy my aftermarket track GTS 93 oct ecu tune with a peak output of ~480-485 whp.

What does carbahn claim for who/hp for a stage 1 non-ethanol ecu?

Any proof that the power dies off well before redline?

Is the warranty worth the money?

Stock crank hub should be fine?

Thanks

I have Carbhan stage 3, flashed it back to stock and passed even with the big turbos.

Wow,
What did that whole setup cost if you don’t mind me asking, and did you do the crankhub? Have you had other reliability issues? Do you run ethanol?

My plan was to do crank hub and stage 1.

I have the crank hub, running 91, did mine in stages and didn’t buy the top mount or turbos directly from Carbhan. So pricing would be a bit different. Search my name you can see my full build thread.
