All good with me, no judgement here. Well, only if you’re also doing the stars in the roof, then I’m going to judge you… hard.

Back on topic. I’m considering going with a high end coilover setup.

Currently I’m running MPHAS with EDC and while I like it, I’ve been running it for about 4yrs now so I’m looking for a change. Plus I want to run 285/35 up front so would prefer a setup with Camber plates included.

I’m torn on whether to keep the EDC or code out and go with a hardcore 2 or 3 way coilover setup. The car will be 99% street driven so comfort and low NVH is a high priority

Options I’m looking at are:

EDC
Nitron R1 elec-tron
TracTive touring

Non-EDC
Nitron R3
Ohlins R&T

What I like about the Nitron is you get camber plates and end links with the setup. The concern is if the camber plates will add NVH vs something like a Milway street made specifically for street cars.

Anybody with any experience on one of these setups or another setup they can share?

No KW V3, they’re like the only fans model of the F80 world, everybody has been through them.

No stars for me, that’s an option you find in a Rolls Royce Cullinen or Wraith, not in a BMW ///M car.

I don’t blame you; this is a big commitment and not cheap. Still, I’ve made up my mind to see this journey through to the finish. For me, it’ll be worth it in the end.

I would look at mcs too if you are spending that kind of money. Made and supported domestically by many shops. If you move up to remote cannisters you can adjust gas pressure to further enhance road compliance. I also believe they have a much longer service interval than nitron.

Only thing I have heard about tractive is terrible customer service.

It's all about aesthetics to do this. If that makes you happy, do you brotha.

It's the Vantrue Nexus 4 Pro. And I really do like it; I have one installed in each of my vehicles. It is one of the most comprehensive dashcams available, rivaling even newer multi-channel systems like the Vantrue Nexus 5.
If you're looking for near-360° coverage with premium video quality and robust features, the N4 Pro is a strong contender—especially for enthusiasts like me who value clarity, reliability, and full situational awareness.
Vantrue has multiple dashcams, for just about everyone. Oh, and the one big thing is that it's supports up to 1TB SD Card, so you never worry about running out of memory space.

Good news! I spoke with my upholsterer, and they managed to remove the headliner without taking out the windshield, saving me some money. I had suggested it was possible, but they were initially set on removing the windshield.
He mentioned taking some photos and will send them over. The bad news is I might not get my car back until next week, though he’ll provide a clearer update by Thursday.
They’re swamped with jobs right now, from full interiors to convertible tops, so I’m lucky he could fit me in at all. These guys are artists in their craft.

A little teaser.

Man what does this mean they're fantastic coilovers which is why they're common. KW V3 on my F80 and V2's on my E46 M3. If im spending big money on coilovers i'm going KW every time.

KW's are softer than titties. I had the V3 variant on my NSX and it took a year of jacking the car up every week and messing with the settings. I DO NOT miss anything aftermarket.

I purchased a set of MP style dry carbon lower front splitters by Suvneer, shown in the photo below. I am currently running an eBay special set of MP style gloss black splitters and lip. From the listing photos, the Suvneer pieces appear to have a very thin cross section, so I presume they would work with most aftermarket MP style front lips, and maybe even a CS style front lip, but I'm curious if anyone with experience could chime in?

Is it okay to list what you’ve already done to mod your f82 if no new mods are planned?

The splitter covers work with the CS style lips with some trimming and modification I have read here.

Me personally;
I think these splitters give the front of the vehicle a snook mouth. Especially on lighter color vehicle. I would just get a CS lip and call it a day. The CS lip will tie in the factory splitters without an ill fitting cheap weave CF cover.

Appreciate the feedback! I ended up going with these splitters and received them today; they are certainly real CF and have a thin cross section. I think they will look better than the gloss black MP style replica splitters I have on currently.
I also ordered a CS style carbon lip which I hope to have later this week. Based on how thin the splitter material is, I think they will fit with the CS lip, but we'll see.

Issue with leaving the lower bumper sections bare is that my car came with a set of carbon splitters installed with, apparently, that BetaLink adhesive or something similar. I removed the splitters because the carbon was beat up and yellowing, and when I removed them I had a heck of a time removing the little bit of adhesive that I could. I'm afraid that there will be permanent damage to the paint if I manage to remove all of the remaining adhesive. As an interim solution, I installed the eBay special gloss black MP style lip and lower splitters which have some clearance between them and the bumper, so I was able to just cover the remaining adhesive. With these new thinner, close fitting carbon splitters I think I will need to take the time to scrape off all the remaining adhesive and I don't have high hopes for the paint condition after doing so.

That said, due to other rock chips and imperfections my longer term plan is to repaint the front bumper, at which point I would consider running without the lower splitters.

Lots of progress has been made to my M3. The quality and attention to detail have been impeccable. I'm truly blown away by the craftmanship. I am one happy camper right now.

So, what's next on my list of things I want to do to my M3. Well, I glad that you asked.
  1. Buy a GTS style hood and paint it.
  2. Purchase Carbon Fiber Hood Vent from Faserschmiede
  3. New frontal PPF after the hood is painted.
  4. Re-Ceramic Coat the entire front clip after PPF.

I am choosing instead to do minor updates to the interior (black out buttons) of the F80 and continue building my track car LOL

Been there, that’s why I still have the F80. For me everything else seemed like a forced buy just to get into something new.

Well, the headliner project is complete, and I'm glad because it took than expected. Now it's time to move on with another project.
