NBT EVO ID4 -> ID6 Headunit Retrofit

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
Sold

Item Interest
These are all the components required to retrofit ID4 to ID6. It will require coding and maybe a harness to take care of some of the wiring.

I was planning on doing this but dont have the time to figure it all out.
It will likely require working with someone at bimmertech

The price reflects exactly what I paid for it from other forum members.

NBT EVO unit - $500
Widescreen upgrade - $250

I'll be happy to answer any questions, but I dont have much knowledge of the coding process.

Its an ATM emulator. If u have I believe a pre-2016 car there is an issue with the GPS which requires an emulator for it to work.

I'm local and interested, but the guys at bimmertech told me that it wouldn't work period with pre-16 cars. This was about 6 months ago...has something changed?

I believe you need an ATM emulator or get one retrofitted. The ATM also does GPS, but I think the emulator can cover that function. I don't think the ATM emulator can get you ConnectedDrive services, only a real ATM module.

Correct me if im wrong, but I believe the ATM emulator is the device pictured above.

I will try and contact Bimmertech and get some answers, but I believe this should be possible.

So, I talked to a bunch of people bimmertech and other, this is possible for pre-16 cars. I have a few contacts that were willing to help with the process. If you're interested I can share those. But nonetheless it can be done.

Yes still available

However I've gotten more info it.. The NBT EVO unit is an ID4 unit that can be flashed to ID6.

The screen however is from a native ID5 unit and won't work with the ID4 unit

So you could get either piece from me and find the other elsewhere, unfortunately they won't work together

It should be mentioned that simply "flashing" a ID4 unit to ID6 may not be stable and prone to reboots due to the difference in RAM. A factory native ID4 unit (this particular unit) contains 2 GB of RAM while a factory ID6 unit has 4 GB. A hardware upgrade is required to run ID6 reliably.
