Dealer applied autobutler to M4
Looking at a new car located 4 hours from me. They have added a bunch of stuff for their profit like all weather mats and "autobutler" coating. I looked it up and it sounds horrific and involves a large automatic polishing machine. Just wondering if anyone has seen this done to a 90k $ car haha..

While not preferred, I bet it's perfectly fine and probably only requires a light paint correction. Now, if they try to make you pay a premium for the car because of it, that's a different story

Well obviously they're gonna charge a premium. They didn't add this coating out of the goodness of their hearts!

"endorsed by most major car manufacturers", but nowhere on the Auto Butler website is there any mention of which car manufacturers. In fact, the website has virtually no information at all. You have to take in your car every six months for "rejuvenation". In order to find one near you, you have to call them.

product is no good. a light polishing will remove it.
Just tell the dealer you want the charge removed completely. They pre-load the cars with it and try to force you to buy it when purchasing the car. Refuse to pay, or refuse to buy the car if they don't budge...they will. Reality is, its a $50 cost to them to have it applied roughly. then they try and sell it for 4k to profit huge! They will eat the $50 in order to sell the car if you are stern enough. |
