I don't have the strength to walk there now, and I haven't put on any of the memorabilia yet but basically it's like bits of wood, a piece of a gas pedal, seatbelt, handcuffs (Trust me, nothing pervy went on there) and so on. Tiny bits and pieces I've fucked up in the last 30 years we've been friends for.

Dont worry, they all have their boxes too.

Lups just wanted to share a bit of my gym fantasy. Makes me laugh at totally inappropriate time

I get out of pool/jacuzzi and shower outside. As the feeling is coming back after the cold water, I think I can feel my mid-back locks of hair dripping as I rub the water thru the top and it cascades down

Then I laugh when I realize I'm still bald

Oh that's so fucking epic! That's what my hair advisor dreams about!

In the last two weeks... My aunt has had a surge alike campaign to find her ex. We've had as a family the weirdest car problems I've ever seen, shit you couldn't believe. A barn in my aunt's home burned last night and I had to go fetch a mentally ill great aunt of my husband's from an asylum for a coffee the day my wallet was mysteriously stolen.

I've been busy. From 9 am to 3 am this shit has been raining on me. This morning my youngest had a fever of 104 and still I had to run around while the nurse grandma and my aunt babysat.

That's all sounds miserable but Julian has a 10.30 appointment for his jaw surgeon tomorrow so apparently I was a victim of a conspiracy. My family and friends decided that me sitting scared was worse than running me to the ground and it fucking worked. Hubby told me an hour ago we have to be at the hospital tomorrow morning and I've slept three hours every night like a baby without knowing the day zero is here.

As weird as their methods have been, it worked.

usually at this point I haven't slept for a week and I'm so on edge. I fear for the kid so much i can't stop doing shit to keep me from crying.

When it isn’t 40 and raining I’ll take some.

$80970, got 8% off plus $4500 in rebates. 5k down plus $5600 in MSDs (max) got 3/10 payment of $799. We added the wheel and tire for $726 for a final payment of $822. I thought it was a very fair deal.

No idea on the watch. That is GrussGott @F83 question.

Considering the M5 is apparently close to 2k monthly payments I think that is great lol.

Plan on keeping it? I am still trying to hold off until my M3 is closer to being paid off before I consider getting another car as a daily. Just... have to hold off the urge until then >.<

The M550 we won’t and will turn it in for something else.

The M3 is most likely a keeper, especially with the rumor mill possibly saying the G80 is AWD and no manual. I’d be stunned if it was that way, but companies have made stupid mistakes in the past.

The F150 is a keeper until the wheels fall of. The super crew cab plus AWD/4X4/snow tire combo is to versatile for family/hockey/dog and anything else hauling. Plus I can rent a trailer and put the M3 on it with tires/tools etc for a track weekend out of state.

So we like our lineup right now.

Didn't they mention that the G80 will have a "Stripper" trim that has 6MT only? I'm keeping mine only because of how much I have done to my car and... I like the M-DCT lol. The time I drove the current M5, I didn't have issues with the ZF but it didn't feel special to me.

Nothing against ZF trannys and all but a M-DCT is an unique transmission that we probably won't ever see again. Especially if you know how DCTs generally are.

Yah, I’m not panicking yet, but the direction BMW looks to be heading with the next gen bothers me a bit.

I had the DCT in my 15 M3 and M4. Hands down the best “auto” transmission out there and it is definitely a faster car with it. But, for me I find it boring and enjoy the extra connection to the car even if I’m giving up some speed. I do get wanting the DCT over the regular ZF8, I really do and it sucks everybody is going away from it as it does have unique feel to it over a regular auto.

Back to the M5 lease support (lack of). I wanted to lease an M5 and the wife was on board as she loved it as well. 50% residual and no rebates on the comp pack cars. Some rebates and still a shitty residual on the non comp cars. It wasn’t worth double the price plus of the M550 for what we will be using it for. So in 2 1/2 to three years depending on if they bring the pull ahead program back. We will turn it in when they can’t give M5s away like the last couple years of the previous gen.

Been actually looking at a possible Giulia QV or X3M in the future... hehe but it is still years away so... not in a huge rush.

From what I know though hasn't BMW gone full circle now? They went from Autos to SMG to DCT and now apparently back to Auto. Knowing most regular people though, they probably can't tell at all between DCTs and Autos for the most part, especially if they are from the VW Group crowd. As almost all of DCTs they use (Audi and Porsche included) feel like a traditional Auto. The M-DCT from BMW is the only one that mimics a 6MT and it mimics it extremely well. It just sucks we are losing it.

Everyone (mainly German car manufacturer) are inching into more tech and more tech, losing some feel in driving mechanics is going to be the end result. Personally I think that is why so many here are against Tesla.

I've been trying to figure out which 2018/2019 model is going to be cheaper in 4 years (ie. marginally affordable if I stretch)

2019 M5
2019 RS7

Either of those I'm pretty sure I'd enjoy considerably in 4 years time. I'm thinking prices will be around 60-70K CAD.

Any other four door (must have four doors for family) options that I'm missing that are fast, decently styled? I've also considered the CT6-V (but I don't think prices will come down - limited production), Jaguar offerings don't really appeal to me, wouldn't touch an Alfa at this point. Prefer sedan over SUV. Don't really like Mercedes.

Also, must be somewhat understated / not flashy. Therefore, Porsche is out.

I would say it's the RS7 actually.

Audi's RS cars tend to hold their value (slightly) better because you don't see them around as much as the Ms. I honestly could be wrong on this considering M's tend to get a hard value hit right away before evening out and going back up (E46 M3, E90 M3).

It is too early for the F90 M5 to be judged I think.

I have a pen pal that recently got a 2018 RS5 Avant that was "taken" from drug dealers by police and resold. I calculated the price for US and it came out to be 35k give or take. Although I can't say that is a good judgement because German market is different than the US ones and it wasn't technically a "used" car. It was below 6k miles.

When it comes to M5 or RS7, performance I would take the F90 M5 (ZCP) because of just how insane the car is in comparison to many other cars. If I want something that is a quiet, a very good cruiser and maybe impress some suit types than the RS7.

I had thought Audi was bringing a new RS7 to the table in 2019...might be wrong though. But if I'm right, it will be interesting to see how it stacks up against the M5. They'll both be too new to judge for a while, but by this time next year, we'll have enough data for some first impressions. And then time will tell on reliability factors by the time I'm actually looking at one potentially. Be a pretty big financial stretch though. Already putting the bug in my wife's ear about budget, just to minimize the shock when it comes time. Play the long game.

I'm curious to see what sort of features Audi will put in the new RS7 though / what the interior will look like.

I been inching more into getting a used M/RS/AMG car when my financed M3 is done (again I'm keeping my Medio M3 as long as possible) as i want to see if I can avoid the huge hit these cars get hit with. It's way more difficult to find a AMG and RS used than it is with a M. If BMW changes their style of huge lease deals on the next G chassis M, things might change but since BMW tends to sell more Ms compared to their AMG and RS counterparts that may never change.

I never been overly impressed with Audi interiors by the way. They are by far way more exaggerated online when it comes to their appearance. Everyone is so hung up over the "Audi Cockpit" they fail to see everything else around it. Now that BMW has more or less caught up, interior wise, I would love to see people justify it. Never can I get over the iPad slapped on screen Audi STILL does. Benz does it as well but the rest of their design is better put together so I can forgive that a bit. Now that BMW has their own digital display and all that, with their iDrive and how it is integrated into the middle dash compared to Audi's slapped on screen?

I was going to post the photo of the interior to kinda show it but I'm sure you can google it and find out what I mean. Audi's interior is overstated as "great" but you compare how it is now to the way BMW has updated theirs. No person in their right mind can tell me a 2018 RS7 with a slapped on screen like that looks better than a current F90 M5. If the rumors of the new RS7 interior is true, then I think it would come down to more of a preference at that point since it looks close to how the new Porsche Panamara's are.

I have always been picky with interiors. I give Porsche crap often because I don't believe paying for 90+ for a 911 means "only" for performance. You pay that damn much for a car you should get good infotainment as well. There are so many little things wrong with the PCM it's just down right annoying. Pre 2017 has no volume indicator, it constantly gives you problems with iPhones not connecting properly, unable to change songs through the PCM. For a car that is north of 70k that is unacceptable in my eyes.

I love the RS7!

I don't get caught up in the interior wars like some do as it isn't the end all be all to me. But, IMO Audi's are a notch above BMWs (even the new BMW interiors). Although I still give the ergonomic win to BMW every time still. MBs are highly overrated though (also MO).

You forgot porno mags. They were a real danger at one point. I believe most were ceremoniously burnt, but it isn't to say there isn't an undiscovered room full of them somewhere else.

Yeah, in general I agree. Audi's interiors are better, though it will be interesting to compare the 2019 RS7 to M5...but they aren't what sells me on a car.

MB is generally overrated in most areas in my opinion, not just interior. Just not a fan of the brand. I've had a hate on for them since I was a kid (because they never made anything exciting really - just targeted old men, like some reverse predator or something). Now I see they are trying to change that image and create more youthful / aggressive cars (or I'm getting older than I think) and the hate is waning somewhat, but still going to take a good long time before I ever consider buying their product.

Oh man, I do have some updating to do for sure. I'll try to find some music for tonight and write it all up!

Joekerr: lol, yeah, that's an option too!

Hate seems to be Lups/Audi and me/Volvo

But much of what I learned mechanically speaking comes from my parents giving me a 75 245DL green pickle-wagon

I looked at an XC a few years back and I didn't feel like punching ANOTHER hole through a side window so I guess I have mellowed a bit in 30+ years
