MA inspection - will I pass?

Hey guys - as previously mentioned, moving to Boston in a little less than a month. I’ll have to eventually register my car and get it inspected. Couple of questions on this:

1) will tinted windows pass on front driver/passenger side?
2) currently have catless downpipes (bm3 stage 2). Will this pass? If not, any suggestions on how to get my car to pass?

Any other info you can provide on where to go/who to talk to would be helpful!

Thanks in advance 🙏🏼

Best bet would likely be switching back to stock for inspection. The catless DPs would be a risk for both OBD readiness and visual inspection.

Things are pretty strict nowadays with direct feed cams in every inspection bay.

How dark is your tint? MA allows 35%.

Following to see how this goes.

I passed on my 335ix in Nov when I had 35% and 20% in the rear. They did give me shit about the rear. I also passed with everything ready except my cats no cel thought because of ****** sim.

Also make sure your tune does not force your cats into a not ready state otherwise you immediately fail the inspection in mass and be sent to a MAC site.

I had no idea what they were either, a quick search came up with this:

http://www.******.ca/io2/

And to answer your question, nope, highly unlikely your car will pass as is. Everything changed back in October, much more strict, with camera back up now

I was informed Area 74 sim DOES NOT work on our vehicle. I had it on my n55 e92 and that work perfectly

thanks for all the input, guys. Decided to just put the stock DP's back on and pick up a mid pipe to retain the added sound.

Not sure if it was you, but spotted a white M4 earlier today around 4:30PM on I90east with Michigan plates? Car sounded really nice.

Remus catback won’t disappoint. I have it on mine and could not be happier with the result!

I got downpipes installed and got rejected yesterday. So gonna try and find a shop and try to finagle a bagel. Got a guy who will pass the tints on my truck. Windshield is done too. But not sure how they pass failed emissions side of things. Where there’s a will there’s always a way.

Do you have the picture of the inspection sheet? I kinda want to see why you were rejected. In theory if you have the dp and no light you are fine. Just the single not ready on the cats.
