I’m on my second F80 M3. Some of the main reasons?

It comes with a manual transmission. You can go pick it up in Munich, and drive it in Europe and the Nürburgring. And it takes incredible abuse on track, absolutely bulletproof.

IMO Alfa missed a great trick here by not offering a manual tranny in the US, and by not baking their product a few more months before releasing it to the public.

I actually wouldn’t have minded leasing one for 2 years to try it out, even with reliability glitches given the warranty. But no stick, no sale.

Why so much triggering over people liking the Alfa, and it's not just this thread either

Seems the one eyed bmw fanboy still exists

Cars like the Giulia QV force other manufacturers to lift their game, including the m3/4 in its next iteration, competition benefits us all

So what you should be doing is thanking the op for spending his time creating free content, instead of turning this place into a mustang forum

ps: that b9 rs5 is such a shit thing

As much as I like the ALfa but I wouldn't want to own one. The M3/M4 is a better car overall, Alfa sounds great and feel great but M3/M4 also is very close as for the rest, Built Quality, adaptability, interior, shape, reliability BMW is the winner

I hear you. Interior is almost there for me. They just need leather in few more places. I actually like the design itself. Seating position is spot on for me. My F90's seating position feels odd when I jump back and forth.

Thanks for the review.

My buying order in this class present day (and I'm no M cheerleader):

1 - '18 or newer M4 (proven and one of the best looking car designs of all-time; must have updated LED headlights)

2 - '19 or newer C63S (I heard MB recently updated inside and out)

3 - RS4 (rare sight)

4 - RCF (NA V8)

5 - Alfa (quite possibly one of the ugliest designs I've seen in quite a while static and in motion; lazy Fiat already cutting corners with dated looking HID style headlamps circa 2000s; woefully unproven)

I've driven all except the RS4. Each have their own unique offering that I could live with so it really comes down to aesthetics for me in this class.

I have no horse in this race as my next car won't be a factory souped up commuter car.

I’d agree with this. It does feel more special, but then again so does the C63S especially in coupe form (which might also be the best looking sports coupe of all time - just such a great looking car with massive presence).

Original poster - car looks incredible! That black in person has a lot of personality to it.

Based on... everyone is a fanboy and we all need to justify something like a YouTube comment.

Just watched your stelvio qv video

I'm keen to trade the Giulia on the stelvio when it lands here - will go same spec, metallic red, ceramics, buckets

Curious what you're thoughts are on ride quality vs your m4

My m3 comp, even with tractive suspension, is right on limit of being tolerable for daily driving on our roads. The Giulia is so much better over broken tarmac but I've heard a few times now the stelvio is harsher, which is worrying given it's got a fair amount more sidewall

i had two f80 m3's so i obviously love them- i just think the alfa, for this price range is much more rare, unique, exciting, "different" and head turning than the m3. how many 3 series are there? no matter what, the M3 will never be "special" to non car fans. just my .02

i never said it is better- i had two f80 m3's i can just compare the alfa more to the charming 4th floor walkup apartment with exposed brick vs the new building with doorman.

sometimes it's hard to explain why, but the exposed brick one is just more special/ unique even though the new doorman building with a pool inside is " better"

Very suitable analogy. Yes, the Alfa Quad certainly does just have a charm about it that the current M3 doesn’t. There’s just something so intangible about the way it looks and goes about driving that IMO nothing else besides the AMGs have in this segment.

Not sure what it means for you guys, but you are definitely in the minority. And I don’t mean just on this forum, but out in the wild too.
