Can you add rear seats in a GTS with no cage?

With the used prices these are at, I'm actually considering a GTS instead of a comp package new build. I have two kids so I need rear seats. I'm assuming it would be an easy retrofit but wanted to check.

Don't know if the bar attachment points will get in the way. See if you can find som pic's of the rear seat area without the cover, or just remove an take a look. It should be a piece of cake just get the right parts from salvage or new if you want to pay a bunch. Get a set of fold down seats if you can. That way you have a really good hauler. All of the mounting points are there.

Anyone? I'm looking at two semi-local GTS's and really want to pull the trigger, but it's a no go if rear seats cannot be retrofitted due to my kids.

On the mustang gt350R you can get a rear seat conversion kit for about $900

I'm sure you can retro-fit the seats. The real question is do you want to remove the roll cage?

There are a number of brackets (for the rear floor boards, fire extinguisher and cage mounts) welded onto the car where the bottom seat cushion is supposed to be. They will all be in the way to retrofit rear seat. I guess you could grind them out if you wanted to.

I have to assume for the GTS specifics such as the water injection and coilover suspension

I can't see why it couldn't be done if there was enough determination. Like the post above said, may need to grind out some mounts etc? And maybe even put new ones in for seatbelts and what not? Could probably do a deal with someone with a regular M4 who wants GTS rear setup?

Look in the mirror and ask yourself if you're willing to retro rear seats so that your own offsprings can safely ride in the backseat. What if your retrofit fails in a bad crash? On top of that, insurance isn't going to like the fact that you added rear seats.

The more sensible solution is to keep it as is (a 2 seater). If you must have 4+ seats, get an M4CS or M3CS and mod it to your liking.

Doing this mod will also more than likely hurt you on re-sale.
