I now use the small cubby below the headlight switch to store wallet, keys and phone.
my gun fits it there perfect

I have to admit that I immediately missed the armrest. I didn't really know how much I used it until it was gone. Granted, I've only driven my M3CS once, and I'm sure I'll just get used to it.

This was a great question OP. The first time I sat in one I was immediately taken by the delete. I had an opportunity to purchase one and trade in my CP but with the mods I have done power is similar and I am not a track rat. After depreciation I just don't see the worth of purchasing such a car for my needs. Beautiful car though. Love the interior. I figure the reality is that for most guys who track the car once a year the CP is far more capable then the driver and the CS is made for those at a much higher level. As a DD I need an arm rest but I can see why the delete in a more track ready car.

The 3 and 9 o'clock argument full time is pretty funny......

Anyone making an argument for an arm rest is just pretending to making excuses not to buy one.

If you are serious about it you won't give a shit about the armrest. I didnt even notice it.

I know you said don't mind it but something looks off. MPerformance badge looks to big and sticks out. Seems to be matte carbon instead of glossy but I think thats an option.

I went with carbon steering wheel trim and matching shift surround. Interior needs carbon to go with alcantara.

Armrest?? Never even thought about it. Do any performance focused cars have them? Gt3 doesn't, and I've never seen anyone complain. I certainly don't care.

I don't miss the armrest. Also...

I don't subscribe to the "9 & 3" driving positions at all times. Pushing it on others is a little anal retentive. [/sarcasm] Besides, how can I hold at 9 & 3 when I am texting with one hand and holding a cigarette out the window with my other?" [/sarcasm]

Finally, it is moot point, not mute point. Sorry, I'm on your side of the argument here, but he is right about this part

it came from my m2 electronic wheel so it's dry carbon. I'm sure wet carbon looks better in the m3

No shock, but this has turned into another who is the bigger purist contest. I love the M3 and M4 CS look/performance, but I would miss the armrest and I'm not a fan of alcantara. That plus no manual means I never looked at one seriously. And I track my cars as well. Different flavors for different needs, wants likes etc.

BS on purple CS. Not aware of any individual color M3 CS. It does have climate control, just not dual for that one time in your life your wife wants it at 23 and you 22. Nothing is preventing you from resting your arm where the official "arm rest" would be if you are unable to hold it up.

The manual argument is the only valid point here.

I actually find the climate control much easier to work with than the dual climate. I hated the dual climate because you can't sync them. I just want a dial for temperature, and a fan speed. That's it! The armrest is a valid point, so is the manual. However, you aren't going to get a new Porsche or Lambo for the same price as a CS.

I honestly can't stand the feel of alcantara either. So much so that I got a custom all leather steering wheel for my GT350. I could do the same with a CS, but add it all up and it is a deal breaker for somebody like me. It sucks because I really like the M3CS, especially at the discounts dealers are giving for them. If they offered a manual I would've done a leather steering wheel retrofit and just done without the armrest or tried to find something to replace it. Either climate control would be fine as I just set it at 70 or 71 and mess with the center dial.

Agreed on the Porsche/Lambo, but I don't think that was their point.

Tidbit: since the CS has a single zone climate system, there’s no “Center dial” temperature mixer for the dash vents.

Why are you resting your arm on the center console when you're driving? Your right hand should be on the steering wheel, at the 3 o'clock position. Your left hand should be on the steering wheel, at the 9 o'clock position. Arm rests are for arm chairs, in your house. The seat in your car is not for lounging, it's for holding you in the correct position while you're driving.

I've never rested my arm on the center console while driving, in any car.
I'll assume that you positively never drink coffee or bottled water while doing your "travels" after all, you're consistently @ 3 & 9

That does kind of suck. Sounds dumb, but I’ve loved that feature in all of my BMWs.
