Wow, I'm surprised your itch to get something new didn't happen earlier. I would definitely consider the quad, if you feel it drives better you should definitely take that into consideration and maybe try to get more hands on time to make a better decision.

Would love to hear a thorough discussion of M3 vs QV from someone that has ample time in both. My initial take was the M3 was harder to lay down the power but felt more exhilarating. The Interior of the M3 was debatably better but there were aspects of the QV like the steering wheel and leather dash that I like more than even an extended leather M. The M3 exterior gets me every time but there something about the QV that intrigues me. I think it's the carbon inlays on the skirts and the fact that it's just something new.
The thing that I noticed right off the bat was that the QV felt better around town on daily drives. A coworker has one and really let me push it hard and I never felt like I was going to lose it. City streets felt less harsh. The unknown of the QV is what really had me almost write a check for the M the other night. Everyone I speak to says stay the F away from Alfa for reliability reasons but the one person i know who has actual ownership experience hasn't had a single issue. Most of these comments are just personal opinion but i love these conversations and am open to others views. In response to others, I'm looking for an auto so the lack of a manual doesn't bother me. Although price is a factor the lease rates don't mean anything to me as i plan to purchase and keep long term. Hopefully like my 07' 328 that I've had for a decade. However $900 for an m340i sounds absurd. Thanks again for all the feedback. |

I remember having that conversation with someone who paid more for their 435 GC than I did for my f80 and were trying to convince themselves that it was somehow better to get the GC Let them have their thread. It will all get sorted out on the freeway or at the track |

Ignorance is bliss though I suppose. As many of them have never and probably will never drive an M3 to compare. |

Just looked at a 330 M-Sport while dropping my car off for service. FIFTY THOUSAND dollars for a 330! It was well optioned, but there's no way in hell the car justifies that price. It just doesn't. I'm assuming the M340 pushes 60k.

also.. there's too many M cars nowadays, and this generation is the most sold M car ever. So.. with that said Get the new M340i to anyone that thinks they are similar in performance. |

If the 340 has a very good cooling setup and it’s engine cooling and brakes allow it to handle 20-30 min hot lapping without power reduction or brake overheat, that would be pretty interesting and change my opinion of sticking the M badges on the car

Lol, I’m not trying to suggest the new 340 is somehow “better than” or a “replacement for” an actual m3, but I would definitely look more favorable on the 340 if it had the track capability that I just outlined.
It’s never been the widebody kit, cf parts, light up ///M logos in the seats that made my F80 special to me, but rather how well it put up with 100F ambient temps for my socal DE days, and how much fun I had meeting up with my friends and playing at the track. If the 340 can hold up to that usage pattern without wilting (like my wife’s f30 335 “sport” or my old z435 “sport” did, with limp mode and power reduction) I would be open to the idea that 340 can be called m340 |

quad will probably hold value best and going to feel more special than m3 but the reliability....idk bout that haha. 340i is great daily but id def rather have the f80 m3. s55 is just way better than b58. altho b58 is fucken legit still. overall best route is to go is to get the m3. thats imo logically best choice butttttt the quad is just something special.
