Seeking KW DDC and Bilstein Damptronic reviews

Looking for any reviews of KW DDC or Bilstein Damptronic reviews. There are a couple spread around, but I thought it would be nice going forward if we had a thread on the topic. I have a 2017 M3 with EDC suspension and I would like to hear reviews, as I have decided not to put on the ACS lowering springs based on feedback about compromised strut life and that I cannot find anyone local to install for less than $900.

To my understanding the Bilstein Damptronic keeps getting delayed. I don't know anyone personally with that suspension.

Only 2 systems in the US and 1 just got installed, probably won't see too much feedback as the person who has them installed really doesn't drive their car often or hard

His IG can be found @TheCur8tor

These things are so damn expensive, I think everyone is hesitant to jump on it without proper feedback and pics.

Note to vendors: I'd be happy to take the leap...if you make it worth my while

There's plenty of reviews on the DDC

Haven't seen any negative feedback

As Justin said there are several reviews on the KW DDC's including my own.

https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1514376

I've had them on my car for over 3000 miles with no complaints. I drive my car year round including winter and on all road conditions and I'm thoroughly impressed with them. Just as I was the V3's I had on my previous F80.

Apart from valving differences based on tuning philosophy, both KW and Bilstein make top-notch products that are well engineered from my experience.

I'm curious if there's any improvement in the handling department over the Comp Pack setup.

I wouldn't want to spend almost $4k on just looks.

Thank you. I somehow missed your review in my prior search.

Greatly improved, OEM comp or non-comp's biggest issue is dampening.

Whether it's PSS10 from Bilstein, KW V3, DDC, CS, or JRZ RS1 or 2 they are all leaps better in the dampening department

Expensive? Bilstein Damptronic and DDC Shocks aren't ordinary Shocks from somewhere. They are masterpieces of German Engineering like a BMW M itself. And still cheaper as a decent racing shock.

The systems are getting all the data feed from the OEM Sensors, if you accelerate and brake the shocks getting autonomous stiffer.

If an improvement of your ride quality isn't your demand, then buy an airride kit, a set of springs or non adjustable shocks for the drop.

Yes, expensive. Didn't say they weren't worth it though.

I'm one of the few that actually can't tell the difference between the 3 EDC settings, so I'm not sure it really matters anymore to give these consideration. Shame, because I love masterpieces (theater, bbq, etc.)

I'm in Southeast Michigan and can install springs (or coilovers) if you need, just send me a PM. Personally I had springs and now KW DDC, I can vouch for the KW DDC for me they are incredible (I've written my review on the Autotalent section). I had H&R super sports which are known to be bouncy, they were ok but too harsh on some roads (I-75 for example) the KW DDC is much better. The V3 and DDC are basically the same with the difference of active dampening. Honestly springs I can easily do in around 2 hours, I don't know why everyone charges 6-7 hours but that's what you get in motorcity when you have a foreign car I guess.

I'm curious, if we want to maintain adaptive suspension functionality, are DDC and Damptronic the only options for coils?

I looked around but don't see anything else.

Tractive suspension. They offer the touring line and road and track line. The road and track line of suspension is supposed to be paired with DSCsport's EDC controller I believe.

Is that plug and play? or is it a separate control module to ziptie/3m to somewhere in the cabin?

Dscsport controller will be plug and play. It will replace the factory EDC controller.
