Looks good in Silver. Almost makes the chrome parts not seems so out of place.
Well, with the exception of the gold calipers, that is. WTF??? |

No, but it explains some weirdness with my order ... about a week ago my car leaped ahead 4 weeks in the queue and went into a "production pack" which nobody has ever heard of. Then on Friday after some telephonic gymnastics and research on their part, a BMWNA rep gave me an exact time my car went into production - 5:33am EDT. I've never had anyone give me an exact to-the-minute time for production.
I'm guessing they built a few of them (or at least one) ahead of mine to set up the line or something, but I'm totally speculating. |

I don't think there is any technology limit, to make the roof parts of Carbon Fiber, even the convertible system internal parts of CF. This would make the Convertible more attractive Weight wise.

I'm also curious if the throttle is restricted while the top is retracting - now that it can be lowered while the vehicle is in motion.

I like the look of the top when it's up, but it's not for me.
Pretty heavy compared to the regular M3/M4, and I would like to know if it handles any worse then the non convertible cars. |

Was surprised the neck warmers don't also cool (or maybe I was wrong during the demo). Drove it at 100 degrees outside and all I could feel was hot air.

Yep, no "cool" air. Just heated. Same with the heated seats. No venting or cooling.

It handles better than an X5M, but it's larger than a 235, although faster than a 128. One thing is certain: it's no x3! BUT. it's got more open air space than the 7 series, that's the real win. It's subtle, but it's there if you look for it

There are pretty much no other 4 seat hard top sport convertibles. You can compare it to roadsters but BMW has the z4 for that ... so it probably best compares to the Audi RS5 cab and the upcoming c-class AMG. If you're willing to make every compromise then the boxster wins for sport, but you pay a pretty steep premium for it not to mention lose 2 seats and the hard top. |

There are some better cars out there in regards to performance, handling and "bang for your buck" But, none of them are hardtop convertibles. This is specifically what I'm after... I've already done my test drives in an 6MT and 7DCT. I'm just waiting for the M4 cabrio to hit the dealerships so I can see it in person.

We got our's last Wednesday. Got all the IND goodies on it, actually not all. Just ordered two more parts from them. What a blast of a car! Actually drove it for the first time today, after getting it home last week. Everyone that saw it wanted pictures and one guy actually ask me to sit in the car. We're getting tint this Saturday, and just loving it. Congrats on the car, we ended up sitting the the darn VDC for almost two weeks? All good now. Enjoy yours.

Couple pics here. http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1034713
Been raining almost every day since these were taken. We've only driven it a few miles since then, damn rain. We'll be going out this weekend, for window tinting, what ever the weather is doing. I'll get some pic's of the dark glass then. Really happy with the IND parts. Just ordered the tri color stitching and alcantara shifter and E brake boot set. They were kind of bland looking. The color will add some spark to that area. K |
