LED Reverse Light Bulbs?

Hey Folks,

Just want to ask had anyone replaced the factory LED Reverse bulbs with LED ones? If so, which LED Bulb did you use?

Our F8X is a pure M vehicle. How come the regular C class has better reverse light than ours.

I was looking for this info too... was upset that everything on the car is basically LED, except the stupid amber yellow reverse lights

Someone posted in another thread that the correct bulb is an 1156/1157. That is incorrect. The bulb I used was a BAY9S. If you take the tail light out and look at the bulb, it clearly says BAY9S. Go with the link I posted above or a BAY9S you find somewhere else

Great comparison! The upgrade is noticeably whiter/brighter than OEM. I may have to give this a try.

What I just noticed though is that they hyper flash when the car starts, but that doesn't bother me

I'm afraid that the bulbs will flicker every couple of minutes as the vehicle conducts its internal check ? I believe there is some coding that needs to be done to have this check disabled. I may be wrong, though.

I'm about to meet up with Alex@alpine. I'll let you know what he says regarding coding for it.

When my friend came over to compare, I had the car on for about 10 minutes and it only hyperflashed upon startup (like three quick flashes)

Yup - I remember having to do this when I had my F30. Just put an order in for the bulbs. Thank you for testing them out for us!

I have a 15 f80 m3. And I took my bulbs out and my reverse lights are 1156. The rear fogs next to reverse are the bay9s. Don't know why some people have bay9s and some have 1156.

Not 100% sure, but the bulbs might be different for LCI taillights.
