Does anybody index the sparkplugs? I think that, when I change plugs, I will order 8 of them and do the indexing.

Can anyone confirm the plugs for a STOCK f80?

When i go to ECS and plug in NGK 97506, they say they are NOT the plugs for the f80.

They (ECS) reference either a BMW or Bosch spark plug.

I've found that in spark plugs, on stock vehicles, staying stock is far more likely to leave you happy - especially with a quality OEM part not known to cause issues.

Realoem lists the RB ZMR5TPP330 as OEM, which is Bosch.

Look at page 1 mid way down. There is a provided torque spec page to follow.

Also keep in mind that TIS flags these as ones that need to be replaced each time they are removed, since they are only designed to be torqued once (bolt stretch).

I have no idea how critical this is...but just FYI

I have chosen to replace each time I remove. But I am kind of fanatical like that lol

Can you use this plug with a stock tune ?

I May tune my car later down the line, so it would be good to get these I assume.

It's So what would I tap this plug to for the stock tune?

You could use this plug on a stock tune, but you might get some misfires. Recommend using the stock plug if you are not tuning anytime soon.

Nice vid by the Blake dude. Thanks to the OP as well.

I'm dreading having some random BMW peasant do the plugs even if free under warranty. Tempted to just bang this out myself.

It’s not actually that hard just time consuming and tedious. Just make sure you know where all the bolts go as well as use a spark plug socket with a swivel as the spark plug is offset a bit. I actually had to tape my socket to the extension and swivel because it can get stuck.

Also change your coil packs while you’re there. I did for peace of mind.

Just used your vid the other day to change my plugs. Ended up taking me about 3 hours with probably 20 minutes of me trying to find the right extensions and then another 30 minutes after giving up and buying new sets at harbor freight.

Also changed out the air filters and took out the carbon filters while I had everything off.

I really appreciate this level of detail.

Are the bolts #19 in the diagram below (qty 4)? I'm really curious for those that have had the spark plug change done at dealership, whether they listed these as part of the bill of materials let alone actually had them replaced per factory manual.
