+1, even when I try to go directly to the image on photobucket it’s the same issue.

Chrome has an extension to bypass the image blurring: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...bifiaedg?hl=en

Otherwise, you can see our thread here, which also goes over the SplineLock install:

Sorry, guys. Photobucket has some pretty sad bandwidth limits these days. If anyone knows of a better free web hosting site for photos, let me know and I'll move the photos over to there.

^^ Why not upload pictures to the thread instead of linking to cloud provider?

I don't believe I can insert the photos within the text if I upload them to the thread?

I have updated the image hosting. Please let me know if you cannot view them.

[Possible stupid question]
Is there a way to tighten the bolt (just to be sure) or just to check if it has sufficient "tightness" before the cbc install ?

No.

Don't mess with it.

It's torqued to around 200 ft/lbs. There's no way to adjust it without locking the crankshaft to prevent it from turning.

yes, of course, but with all the chain system locked is it possible? How can i be sure that at the moment that the cbc is installed, the bolt isn't at 190ft/lb..180.. ?
im i making any sense?

Just researching crank hub issues before purchasing a used F80/82/83 and came across this write up. Probably the best write up I've ever seen - well done sir.

I've had it on the car for 10 months, I am running the BM3 CS tune and I haven't had any problems. However, I should point out that the F83 is just a summertime toy that only gets about 1000 miles a year and is stored for 5-6 months through the winter. I also try not to use the kickdown feature.

I recognize that the CBC is not a full crank hub solution; therefore, I am unwilling to go any more agressive with the tune.

This is encouraging to know you have had it for a year with no issues.

How many miles does your car have now and how many miles have you put on it tuned with CBC?

Anyone else had just the CBC long term?

Just did this install, two tricks I learned that might be useful:

1) if the crank pulley moves (which mine did) just put a torx bit in the tensioner with a ratchet on it, then wedge it with a pipe on the end towards the intake to hold the belt loose (made it easy to work on after that)

2) if you take your cell phone in video mode with the flashlight on you can see easily what’s going on inside the crank pulley in terms of alignment

Overall this install was much easier than I was expecting

I put on about 12,000 miles since Crank bolt capture. Many passes at the Dragstrip and over 100 Dragy runs. For Stock Turbos CBC is a must !!!!

Quick question. I plan to replace the belts while im in there and wanted to drop the fan from below. Does the car need to be raised very high if done on jackstands to clear the fan from the car or am i able to tilt it diagonally out of the car?

Thanks.
