Yup, the character line also ends higher on the rear lights on the M4 as it does in these pix.

Great catch, I completely spaced the difference in the trunk!

I'm sorry, but the styling on this new generation of M3/M4 is entirely too questionable. I mean, there is no consistency here and while some areas have good styling, other areas seem to be over-styled. It's a bit disheartening, too, because most of us can only really see ourselves in an M3/M4 among the other equivalents on the market.

Exactly..wishful thinking buddy..cant get over BMW doing this again..mind boggling..2015 model for gods sake
I bet they will have aftermarket tailights to fix this issue. The YMB looks amazing.

The E46 lci had LED's for chrissakes. C'mon now we're two generations removed. LED rear tail lamps are very close to being obligatory on the cheapest of cars by now.....

The trunk also has grooves that follow the lines of the roof on the F82. F80 doesn't have this.

Their taillights are also different.

The trunk looks really cool. I don't think that detail was on the concept car I saw at Laguna Seca BMW Oktoberfest.

I want these wheels. They look like FIs a bit. They aren't the 18s since they clear the CCB. I don't think we will get these. I think we will get the wheels we saw on all the official pics. As for 18s I don't think we have seen them yet. SCOTT26 if you are listening please let BMW know I LOVE AND ADORE THESE WHEELS. I would totally love to have them. Please and thank you.

Also it looks like this uses the same reflectors as the F32 so that is nice. The e9xm used different reflectors from the standard car. I thought that was silly. Plus these look much more flush than the e9xm so that makes me extra happy.

Hold on.. if we got special order paint via BMW Individual, how do we go about getting paint matched reflectors??
Where does one order painted reflectors?
BMW doesn't sell these I assume.. And you can get by any state inspection by just putting on orange reflector tape on your bumpers, get them off of ebay or wherever.

Yea but E92 pre-FL didn't either. So none of this is a surprise really.

Yes, but that's about 7 years ago, so I think it would be appropriate if they finally would bring full LED taillights as standard (or at least as an option). This is nothing but annoying and cheeky.

All these people betching about the reflector should be thankful that it's on the bumper and not in the headlight. A bumper reflector can be easily painted...

Guess that's why the burger doesn't automatically come with fries and a drink since I disagree 100%

yes, this....

on a side note we're prob not too far away from LCI on the f30, which means they might simultaneously LCI the f80, which i'm sure will have the LED tails...

It doesn't take a genius to figure out why they do it. Look at how many people trade in their cars after 2-4 years just to have to newest and 'best' out there. Ever since the E46, it has always been incandescent bulbs for the first few years, then LED's for the LCI.

If BMW came straight out with the LED's, people would feel less compelled to go back and get the newest thing.

I have to agree though, that it is a bit ridiculous to not have LED tails on ALL cars $40k and up. If it is going to be marketed as a luxury car (which all BMW's are), then it should have LED tails and xenons as a minimum standard.

Or one can order the car with full LED like the 5 or 6 series but that would be ridiculous to go down that road...since we r talking an M car here.
