How many speakers are in the F83?

There is a confusion here, on the BMW site it says the F83 has 16 speakers but on the Harmon Kardon Site it says 16 for the Coupe vs 13 for the Convertible

Can someone please confirm how many speakers are there in the F83 M4?

Since you posted the same question on Bimmerfest, here's the answer that I posted there:

Can't you just count them? There's two subwoofers under the seat that you can't see.

I would think that BMW would have more accurate information than Harman Kardon. Harman Kardon says 12 for the 'Vert, not 13. In their diagrams, it looks like the two tweeters and the two midrange speakers found in the side panels of the back seat of the Coupe are missing in the Convertible.

For the M4 Convertible, BavSound shows 14 speakers in their Stage One upgrade kit (which doesn't include the subwoofers), 7 tweeters and 7 midrange speakers, and includes the rear/door panels.

If you don't have the tweeter/midrange pair on either side in the rear seat, then you have 12 speakers total, not 16.

I don't know where/how you guys are counting but …

If you have HK ("688") - sound in your F83, you have:

* Left Door - Mid Range & Tweeter -------------------->: 2
* Dash Center - Mid Range & Tweeter ---------------->: 2
* Right Door - Mid Range & Tweeter ------------------>: 2
* Under Seat - Woofers -------------------------------->: 2
* Left Rear Lateral/Side Panel - Mid Range & Tweeter>: 2
* Right Rear Lateral/Side Panel - Mid Range & Tweeter: 2

Total: ----------------------------------------------------> 12
