So, I got a little carried away with the Porsche configurator today. God, I'd love a bright green Targa 4S 7MT; full brown leather, chalk stitching, wood trim and brown roof! Only $170k. With all this inflation, I could buy it today and maybe it will be worth double in 5 years?

Apparently the Targa holds its value best of the non-GT 911's. Learn something new everyday. They may be the most compromised of the 911's but damn they are beautiful.

Just in case your GT2 RS is a little too ho-hum for the track....

And check out the "which would you rather have" poll at the bottom. Dead heat.

stein_325i I think I knew that just from searching for 991.2s last summer before I went through with the M2C. In the the long run, the Targa 4S with the stick will be quite rare. Would be nice if there were a Targa 2S.

Well, to be fair, I've been married for 20 years so my definition of "menacing" is probably much higher than most people ...

Out curiosity, what is the reasoning behind this? I always assumed outside of the special models, the turbo would be the most desirable.

According to Nick Murray who knows a ton about Porsche's, its mainly due to the low production numbers of Targa's.

Officially saw my first G23 430i today with the horrible looking grilles (white on black, no M sport either). Yep, it still is super ugly!

On the bright side, I did see 3 GT3s on the road - black, gray and highlighter yellow! They looked super nice!

992 TT --> $218k --> 376$/hp
992 TT-S --> $249k --> 389$/hp

While the turbo is a whopping $49k over the C2S, I do get a rather significant 130hp boots in power (@375$/hp), plus I get the wider body, wider wheels/tires, 4WD, active aero and a few more or less trivial standard features. Jumping to the turbo-S adds a rather significant 31k to the price for a non-negligible 70hp power jump (@$441$/hp), but without any other performance/cosmetic benefits over the base turbo, plus I am forced into two options I prefer to avoid: PCCB and PDCC. That's how I settled on the turbo being in the sweet spot for me .
I envy you wish I could do that $49k more. But I’m doing the next best thing, tuning my C2S with catless dp to 540 whp/600 bhp for $3k in a month to try to get to Turbo levels lol. Still won’t be all the car that a Turbo is but should be plenty for me.

As a tidbit, in French a turd is called an “étron”, literally. Audi really missed that with their e-Tron branding .

Not to change the subject, but this gas shortage on the Southern / Eastern side of the US is crazy. Drove by six stations yesterday before finally finding some gas. Cars were stretched out onto the main road blocking traffic. People were yelling and screaming at each other, and these two ladies almost got into it. Insanity!
Anybody else encountering the same issues??
Enjoy the day guys!
