Any reason to not just leave your exhaust valves open all the time?

why wouldn't you want to hear that exhaust note all the time?

Open is so nice.

Pretty sure the neighbors are going to get tired of the cold start though.

Well if it makes the car sound like it does when it starts, then I know one reason. Not pretty!

This,

The cold start isn't very good. Would wake up my whole neighborhood if I did that every 6am

Being always in Sport+ doesn't mean valves are always open, just FYI. Especially if you have a recent software, Sport+ closes valves even in lower gears depending on the RPM. If you are on an older software, Sport+ closes valves only in higher gears depending on the RPM.

I leave mine plugged in for options. I like being able to tweak lil bits of the car (drive modes, exhausts, suspension, steering, etc.)

Pull the fuses or pull the plug. Fuses disable other features so I pull the plug.

Link for how to further down that post in that thread.

For those of you who are leaving the valves open by pulling the connectors next to the external valve actuators, make sure you wrap/tape the connectors up very well as they are electrical connectors and you don't want them dangling open to the elements. Also, obviously, you would need to make sure valves are in the open position before you pull the plug. I think they stay open when you shut the car off in sport or sport+. Shine a flashlight into the tailpipe and you can see if the valve is open or closed. Pull plug only when exhaust is open or you will have a nice, quiet permanent exhaust note.

In which software update did they make this change. Wondering if my 2018 (7/17 production) would fall under what you say is recent software?
