I loved how M3 looked in person! I think it really overpowers M4 in the rear quarter panel section. Yumm!

It looks like front fender gap is so big that you can put your entire fist in between >.<

Great pics.
I do cringe at the thought of those intake valves and turbos after 30,000 miles. I REALLY hope BMW has figured out how to resolve the oil blow-by issue.

Great detailed pics. I have a strong preference for coupes, but the M3 is naturally more appealing to me. Feels a little like I'm forcing myself to like the M4s rear.

One interesting detail caught my eye just now.. Didn't know this.. Differential cover is bolted Vertically to the diff housing.. It has been always mounted horizontally from the back...Hmmm

Thanks. Curious whether YMB will look a little darker if not under the show floor lights.

Bummer the cars are locked, I would really like to hear about the seats and how they are to sit in.

Yup. I was sad to see that too.. But I am not in hurry. I am sure alot of dealers will have M3/M4 to showcase.

I saw the M3 and M4 at the NAIAS last night as well. Im not sold. Not because its not a beautiful car. It definitely is. It just doesnt seem as aggressive as the E92. The rear end is windswept a bit too much, giving it a longer appearance. A bit too long IMO. The M3 actually looks a bit more fitting because the longer wheelbase is appropriate for the 4 doors. M4 just appears too long.

The car is wide for sure, however it doesnt appear so. The Fendor flares and bottom side skirts are more subdued which give it a less aggressive stance. I am not liking the side gills either, I felt the horizontal gills of the E92 transitioned well with the rest of the body lines. The new ones look cheap and out of place. I am still undecided on the side mirrors as well. The half painted half plastic and lack of aerodynamic styling as seen on the E92 appear a bit cheap as well. Wheel gap is horrendous as well. I'm hoping that will change in production

Its still a great looking car, just not beastly looking. Im digging the A/C seats though!

Referring to the M4 here? Hard to believe you would feel that way about the sedan.

I don't know why BMW insists on making the M3's look like 4x4's from the factory.

These cars needs a drop. Badly.

Listen, I'm not one of those guys who likes a slammed look. Far from it. But that is very high. The gap between the fender and the tire is way too big.

I know that competition package attempted to correct this in the last model by lowering the car by 10mm. But 10mm just won't cut it here.

It needs a 20mm drop to look good.

I realize the color question has been asked already, but I'd like to ask more specifically. How light is the YMB? Sky blue? Baby blue? How much lighter than Estoril Blue II?

Thanks in advance!

I wish someone who has seen YMB and AY in person could refer to pics that capture the real color the best.

Agree on the front if we are talking the older models but not the rear. My E90 is pretty much flush with the fender in the rear on stock suspension.

The new cars across the BMW lineup are sitting higher. I think it might be due to EDC and the strive to offer both a luxury crusing mode and a sportier mode in the same car. I.e they use longer springs now to accomodate a soft cushy ride in "comfort mode" and then rely on the electric dampers to stiffen the ride in sport mode. I do hope that the standard suspension will use shorter springs but maybe not if they want to save cost and only keep one type of springs in the F8X product line.

Seats are almost certainly NOT vented. How could those holes actually do anything?
