Great video. I died when he ripped off the center console

Sadly however this just shows that in order to get a real and great driving M5, you have to pony up for a special edition that's limited availability and costs $150k. This should be how the regular M5 drives.

Totally agree that it’s different for everyone. I’m confused how 18-ways with lumbar completely off/deflated still was a negative compared to the flat-backed 4-ways. Perhaps the lumbar never completely deflates, or it changes the seat back smoothness somehow?

That was funny! Agreed, it sucks that to get the really good stuff from BMW you've got to pony up for the CS. My M4 CS was noticeably better than my comp in every way driving wise. Those went for fire sales at the end though and ended up one of the best values from BMW.

What I've read and heard from salesmen is that the 4-ways are more comfortable because they're all padding whereas the 18-ways are thin padding over air bladders. As a result the 18-ways feel marginally harder.

I didn't quite get it either and maybe it was the bolsters that played a role? Not sure to be honest, but even if I could get the 18 ways to feel like the 4 ways, memory is not worth the extra ~$3800.

I guess it depends what is the normal amount of sales from in stock inventory BMW does during a quarter. If they normally do most of their sales via orders, then they could be fine.
Dealers in Europe don't stock as much as in the US so ordering a car here is the norm.

60-90 days for a German-built BMW into the US? That's shorter than what Germans have to wait for, on average, it's currently three to four months for an G8x in DE.

Only the Munich plant is at full tilt; Regensburg, Dingolfing, Leipzig are on one-shift schedules and on particular days in the week, too.

Heard harman/kardon on lesser G2Xs is unavailable till September, with things like ACC, comfort access, wireless charging and even lumbar support on non-M Sport seats being restricted as well. I've seen 3ers being delivered to dealers with a scotch tape covering the hole where surround cameras should be. But things change on a daily basis.

VW's current lead times in the EU on Touaregs are 7-9 months. And I've heard of upwards of 12 months for base A-class Mercs. G-wagons are apparently unavailable till mid-2023.

All is good.

That's gonna rub on the first dip you encounter at speed.

Waste of an M Coupe, imo.

I am the same way actually. I prefer the F8x Competition Seats over the regular ones.

One of the reasons why I didn't order the LWBS is mainly because I want to be able to move in my seat and be a little more freeing. The way LWBS kinda forces you in a certain seating position and restrict you a lot actually bothers me. I am not claustrophobic but also don't like feeling so constrained when driving.

At least regarding G-Wagons, they are still some what regular. Well, up until recently as I don't know if you try to order now.

My uncle's G-Wagon was about a 3 to 4 month wait time, which is the usual. He ended up not signing for it the past week because the person he was working with left the dealership and the management want to increase the ADM. He wasn't in a rush or care for needing a car immediately so he just declined it.

Maybe the 2022 year has been pushed back further though as his car was actually 2021 model year.

I really don't get the allure of these things. Especially used at almost a 1/4 million. This one is at my local MB dealer that we got our C63S from.

I use to feel the same, but I'm not gonna lie, after driving the new ones when they came out (550 and 63) they really are cool and unique cars on the market and I think I really get the appeal now. The door shut and locking sounds alone are enough to make me excited not to mention both V8's are awesome and sound great with the dual side pipes. They did also finally make the car a lot more road friendly than its ever been, while keeping many of the aspects and capabilities that owners liked about the previous models.

If I had unlimited funds I'd definitely pick one up, and that Porsche like resale value sure does help when selling it, although I think the 550 is more than enough, I'd have no need for a 63, but then again, the G-Wagon has always been about being excessive

I've never been an SUV guy so maybe that is part of it. I get my V8 sounds/fix from the C63S. If I'm spending north of 200k, I can't imagine it would ever be on an SUV. But I'm not a baller and I know most that have those are.

Agree not my first choice on how to spend $200k, similar to how I feel to the Taycan (much rather spend $100k+ on a Porsche with an engine in the middle or rear) but I imagine this is one of many vehicles in a garage.

AMG G-wagons on steelies are very cool and so are the big Range Rovers on some 22s. Those are the only SUVs I like. OK, third one is the 4.8is E53 X5, but we don't talk about that.
