I say well worth the wait. Car looks great and the SO interior gives a nice contrast.

You really need to explain how you get out when in that garage. "Dukes of Hazzard" style is my guess.

Seriously, how do you get in/out of it in the garage? You must be really svelte!

Wow guys thank you so much! I'm flattered and overwhelmed by all the kind words! I wanted to start replying to everyone. Seriously, in person the paint is incredible. It is a conversation starter for sure. Had the car out on the road for only an hour and had about six people all asking "is it paint?" or "is it a wrap?"

Maybe only reason to get the moonroof??
Haha regarding my garage, don't even get me started! That's what happens when you have a tiny 100 year old house! I have it down to a perfectly choreographed precision-based operation! The passenger (my wife) must exit before pulling into the garage and I have to basically kiss the right wall and then squeeze out of the car like toothpaste coming out of the tube. Haha.

So, the M4 isn't going to be my daily driver. NYC Mass Transit is actually and I also have a Jeep Wrangler which I use as well. This car is a weekend car for me and will see probably between 5,000-7,000 miles annually. As a previous owner of a matte colored car, I can confidently tell you it is a lot of work. In order to maintain the paint you cannot go through car washes, you cannot wax, you must clean after any bird crap, or wash after rain or tree sap. It is a lot of work, but the look of it clean is worth the effort in my opinion!

It all depends, in most cases I break even and don't really lose anything. In a couple of cases, they turned out to be wrong financial decisions, and in some cases I made out super awesome! For example, on my C63, I put $5k down in drive-off costs, drove it for a year, and had to give a $1k incentive to someone to take over the lease. With my 911, I put $2k down in drive-off costs, drove it for a year and got $3,500 from the person who took it over!

Yeah, I noticed that after several of you pointed it out. I guess it's not that bad but definitely peculiar of them to choose glossy instead of matte. Maybe they were just in a hurry to get this car produced so that I stopped calling the 1-800 number every day and asking about updates. LOL!

Good question guys! I'm not even sure myself. The car was leaning on an angle so that may have something to do with it. I will upload some more pictures this weekend on flat ground for everyone!

Yeah, you are totally correct. I am literally all over the place from tiny coupes to 7 Series' with massaging seats. I think I go through phases. Regarding the SUVs, ironically they are all my wife's so I can't even take any credit for them. It's too funny seeing a tiny 5' tall woman hop out of an SUV in my opinion but she loves them and swears by them! This is actually her current car. I think it's kinda cool actually! A 2015 Audi SQ5 (with the swirl mark package haha):

Where is the color label located at on the vehicle? I always knew them to be underhood but looked at a few new Bimmers last weekend that had hoods open and I didn't see the color code anywhere. Am I just slow?

Otherwise, the car is gorgeous, best of luck with it. I'm dying to see an FB F80 now.

Yes, this. I initially didn't see them, but then saw your comment and that's all I notice in the profile shots now. Hard to imagine BMW let the car out like this - it really kills the profile look of the car now that I can't unsee it. I'm sure just a few dollars thrown at the problem will make it disappear though.

Here are a couple of relatively boring pictures from the tint shop. I was bored and still giddy that this car actually finally came in so I snapped a few pics:

Im serious. Im honestly torn because BMW frozen colours are my favorite they offer, but from what ive read you have to be really be on top of removing things (like the day they happen). Is that an exaggeration?
On ordering day, my sales guy actually talked me out of a frozen color as I was thinking along the lines of good for resale. He cautioned me, though it looks really special, one has to take great care in terms of specific cleaning products and procedures not to ruin the paint finish.

Thus went to SO, as I couldn't be denied an audience where ever I went.

OP, nice choice, you have something very unique here!

What an awesome car! Love the color!

As some have pointes out I would check for transport blocks, it does look really high. Should be easy to see.

why would you drill your bumper on a custom paint job like that for a front mounted plate!?

I can live with not waxing, and using touchless car washes sans wax etc. I live in a VERY rainy city though. Whats the need to wash after rain?

Cleaning after bird crap is not a major issue to me since it seems to happen rarely rarely. Few times a year maybe?

Changing products and procedures doesnt seem like a headache, its the frequency that would hold me back.

I cant get over how good it looks though.

Really? Not even touchelss car wash with regular soap, or hand held coin operated power washing?

Those two methods comprise 95% of my current car wash strategies.

Check this thread out. Looks like Forzen paint hold up much better then some people say.

Not bad, the guy has balls letting it go that long with such an expensive paint job. I can only go by what I've been told by my sales guy I bought my F80 from, as I've never owned a frozen, "it's not a paint job for everyone". Having been discouraged I did the only sensible thing, chose SO.
