Have used them thrice is 8 years and they have always been excellent. Extremely easy to work with, very very easy to get quotes in their website and zero to no hold time when you call them. Most recent episode was when my Acura got caught in the hail and got over 150 dings. They allowed me to choose a shop of my liking and the whole process went smoothly. Could not have been happier.

When I still had my E90 M, I was paying $485/6 months for three cars.

little advice, RUN

I wont get into to much detail but GEICO and most of the cut rate insurance companies will not replace your damage goods with "brand new OEM parts" they will instead replace the part with knock off parts which they will say they will warranty for life. However this will void any BMW warranty you may have at that time. Take it from me I was burned once long ago. If you can get something in writing that states that any repairs will be replaced with "brand new OEM bmw parts from BMW" then go for it but you will see they will not do that since it cost them more.

just advice

for what its worth, myself and the dealership is all Farmers insurance

I second this.

Switched quickly out of geico and been happy with farmers ever since.

Agree. I have Nationwide and one or the options is OEM parts replacement.

I was with Geico for 15 years, with 3 comprehensive claims from animal encounters. They paid out well, but the first time I made the mistake of using their shop, and my '02 Cooper S was never repaired to my satisfaction, and had overheating issues that they never addressed. I used my preferred shops for the next two incidents, and no issues there.

My '08 STI vs deer was over 14k in repairs, which was almost 50% of what I paid for the car, but since the airbags didn't deploy, they didn't total it. I was lucky enough to trade it in for what I owed, as soon as I got it back from the shop.

That's why it pays to have a body shop that you trust do the repairs with OEM stuff. My shop physically shows me the OEM parts and invoices prior to installing them. If you guys want to pay double or triple the premium over Geico and think you'll get better service from the body shop because of it, more power to you.

Is farmers any good? I was thinking of switching over. I currently have West Bend Mutual and Auto Owners. They are really good insurance companies, but are expensive as F***

Sr. Thomas and the dealership have been with farmers from the beginning 30+ years now i believe (I lost count). I personally have been with farmers for about 5 years now(was with GEICO for 6yrs prior). They are a touch expensive but you will be very thankful when something happens that you have a personal agent and a good insurer. I can only comment on what I have experienced and what we see at the dealership everyday. You get what you pay for in the long run.

im not saying you have to go with Farmers I'm sure there are a lot of good companies out there just make sure you get something in writing that says no matter what all parts will be replaced with brand new oem parts from BMW.

Funny because Farmers quote is about 25% less than what I am paying with West Bend currently.

Thanks. I'll call them and see if that option exists.

Funny how that works. Also, GEICO has a huge presence in the PA/NJ area.

Like most things in the world, you get what you paid for, or, as one of my favorite authors likes to say, TANSTAAFL.

Shop that you trust is key, as is negotiating with geico.

They paid for oem dealer windshield glass on my z4 after some back and forth

I've been with Geico for 10yrs now

Haven't had an issue with them.

first incident was when I was moving back north and ran over a box of tools, bumper was done. They wrote me a check to get a new bumper.

second incident was an uninsured driver swiping me, sending me spinning and onto the other intersection. They wrote a check again to have it fixed.

29 y/o male single in Houston TX
Under geico, pretty clean record (2 speeding tickets in last 4 years)
F82 - $558 every 6 months with $2500 deductible. I don't mind the higher deductible...I think of it as bottle service in Vegas

Try living in Italy. I’m 37 and my M4’s policy with USAA will cost $5,500 per year ($458/mo)! That’s with a $100 comprehensive deductible and $500 collision deductible.

State Farm for me. I pay $149/month with $250 deductibles.... That's on my '13 E92 M3. Not expecting much of an increase for the M4

I just moved over to Farmers for auto/home, from Liberty Mutual/USAA. Pretty good savings, but we'll see how it all works out because I just had a fender-bender last night.

I just recieved my renewal from Liberty Mutual, and I'm glad I read thru this thread:

for a 14' X5 and a '15 M3, they wanted me to pay $4k/yr !!!!!

FUUUUUUCCCCKKKKK THAT!!

been calling for 2 days and got quotes from Geico, nationwide, State Farm, allstate, and couple of others.

Long story short, after reading reviews and customer service feedback from all of the above, I decided to go with Allstate:

43 yrs old (wife is 42)
Clean record
33322 Zip Code
14' X5, 15 M3
$1399/6 mo for both

Not the greatest, but a good $1200 savings over what I would've been paying with Liberty Mutual, which I have been with for 10 years.
