Avg is 16mpg

I do mostly short runs, my work is only 5 miles away, so not much highway cruising except on the weekends.

mid 20's ish. I've had 30 on a run, but no better. I got bored after about 4k and haven't looked since.

Appreciate this is a bit of a thread resurrection on a topic most M owners aren't interested in (and I fully appreciate why)... I seem to average around 27 but I live out of town & don't do any commuting. On a round trip up the M5/M6 of 375 miles I recently did 31.5 (calculated) on a near tank full & I wasn't trying for an eco trip - that is just what I was hoping for when I got the car 10 months/8k miles ago now. My concern was more range than mpg - for me there was no point having a quick car if it took me longer to do typical long journeys because of the time it takes to refuel it - so pleased with that - I won't say what speed I sit on the m-way but cars seldom pass... The car is so incredibly capable though and the throttle position and the M button I press (so my choice) dictates whether my wife thinks it is one of the most comfortable cars we've had or the scariest thing she has sat in (she really doesn't like the MPE on full chat but I do, so I find myself constantly apologising and trying to convince her it is what the paying public in general want to hear

Just completed a 1250 mile trip into Europe and averaged 29.8 mpg. Mostly motorway driving at legal maximum speeds. Maxed out at 145 on one stretch and maintained 110+ for a while which brought down the average but all in all very happy with the mileage achieved (and the trip was just amazing!)
