Album Art Not Working with bluetooth

First post, but I need some help. I have a 2015 M4 and I noticed that after I updated my software via usb my album art wasn’t showing up anymore using Bluetooth. It does show up when I plug my iPhone into the USB port and play music. Does anyone know a fix to this problem without having to plug your phone in? Appreciate any help!🤦🏽*♂️

I usually have to switch to radio and then back to media using the buttons next to the idrive controller for it to show the track info and cover art

Disconnect your phone's bluetooth completely from the iDrive. Remove iDrive from your phone completely. Restart your phone and reconnect.

This might sound like a dumb question, but how do you remove idrive completely from your phone? :

Only seems to work with my iPhone. This has been the case with my last 3 cars. I get nothing with my Android.

I recently switched from an iPhone to the Note 9, but never got album art with either of them. I've also lost the Spotify app, as well. Really thinking about getting one of the CarPlay/Android Auto add-ons.

Spotify app via Connected drive, but that doesn't seem to work now that I've switched to android 😩

Over the weekend wife's iPhone using Amazon Music started showing album art over Bluetooth (non Carplay connection). First time it showed up. Weird.

Both Spotify and amazon are working with album art through BT for me too! Not sure what happened, but I'm excited Hahahaha!

Album art or Spotify integration has never worked for me, S7 before and now with an S9+. Tried every trick in the book.

It doesn't work with Android phones for whatever reason. Album artwork wise I mean. I have both a S8 and iPhone X and I rarely have issues with my X not displaying artwork. I have had it happen a few times but it always sort itself out in the end or I just have to disconnect my phone, delete & turn car off before reconnecting and it works after.

I don't know why iDrive dislikes Android phones. Though, I have noticed the newer iDrive 6/7 seem to be more picky regarding this than the older, more simple iDrive 4.
