What tyres
Hey all,
I have an M3 CS and with the current wet weather and the Cup 2s, the car spins the wheels even in 4th gear in the motorway (at times when flat out). What tyre would you go for to have a bit more sure footed handling? I prefer progressivity to outright grip. Views? Cheers, Socrates |

Hi there,
I dont have the CS but have the same wheels on my M4, ie 763 M's. I've just ditched my Cup 2's for Michelin Ps4S tyres and the improvement in the damp / cold / wet is 100 x better. I was sliding all over the place when i had the Cup 2's on. Even with everything in tame mode. |

Almost as sticky & grippy as the Cup2 in the warm & dry. Winner winner chicken dinner

I've now moved to PS4S for the UK and found them to be an excellent tyre

I've heard to put PS4S on the rear and keep the PSS on the fronts so this was the route I was going to take (as I am going to change the rears first). Something about the PS4S having a stiffer sidewall which upsets the handling

4S has a softer sidewall, I’ll just stick to PSS all round |

However, I do believe there may be a difference in "feel" depending what sizes you run. The PS4S xl rating on 666 & 763 wheels for the M3 & M4 is the same as the PSS. I believe it may be different for 437 sizing & M2 sizing. The 4S has been developed to replace the SS. It's a better tyre.
