If the AutoBild price turns out to be accurate, the 70,000 Euro base price estimate can help us decipher expected U.S. base prices.
http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=878064 Those who are whining that 70,000 Euro = over $90,000 USD, should read on. Take a deep breath. You can't do a direct price conversion of Euro to USD from that 70,000 Euro price tag. It will be priced slightly higher than the E92's base price. This simple equation between the US and Euro price of the E93 M3 should help decipher what that 70,000 Euro price translates to for the US market. 68,750/75,900 = X/70,000 Solve for X. X = $63,405.80 SNIG's base price estimate for the M4 Coupe is $63,500. SNIG's base price estimate for the M3 Sedan is $60,500. Slightly higher than the E92 M3 Base Price. Remember, the F30/F32 platform has wayyyyyy more crazy options than the E90/E92 M3s. So expect fully loaded M3/M4s to push close to $80k USD. Let's take a look at E90/E92 Pricing. At the peak of production the 2011 M3 Sedan was $3k less than the Coupe. Currently, there is a price difference of $2800 between the 2013 335i and 435i. The 328i and 428i, a difference of $3400. An average difference of $3100. So I think it is safe to estimate a similar $3000 base price difference between the M3 and the M4. |

BMW started playing the Porsche options game not that long ago, but not in full swing yet. They still are kind of "conservative" with the Package prices, though. Not like Porsche and their $2600 leather-covered speaker grills, for example. |

i just feel like it will cost much more than its competitors that will most likely be faster such as a 60k new corvette which will do 0-60 under 4 sec around 3.7 and new mustang will be 400 lb lighter and might even have a bigger engine and on top of that current one is like 25k cheaper which might even be a bigger gap with the new M4

I don't think this car will be 90k or even close, unless you want the cc brakes, individual color, oem cf bits, and every other option. I really think a nice f32m4 can be had for 75k quite easily.
I'm on the list and can't wait!! |

It may be, but ONLY if BMW has worked out the limp mode track issues that plague the turbo M5/M6.

If this is the case I rather get the M5 or a C7 Z06 that's on the way.

Fast forward 10 years in my life and yes, I would consider the Vette. However, right now, I must have a back seat for the kiddos. Strapping them to the roof of the C7 Vette would be making a dangerous move even more dangerous with their history of the roof flying off. |

I think by the time I leave the dealer lot with the M4 it will cost me about 86 to 87 k. That I am hoping will cover all of the options except carbon ceramic brakes and paying for individual paint. That should also include the paint and interior protection package from the dealership and clear film protection for the front of the car, hood, and rear bumper. Now, my boss (wife) said no way for carbon ceramic brakes for a daily driver and now I just have to figure out if that exhaust on the concept will be available for purchase. That will of course bump up the price by probably 4 k or so.

if the C63 AMG starts at $62k and the RS5 starts at $69k....expect the M4 to start at within the $60-$65k range. The RS range from Audi has traditionally always been more expensive than the M range from BMW....don't expect that to change.
For example, the TT-RS started at $57k and the 1M started at $47k. Currently the M3 starts at $60k and the RS5 starts at $69k. M-pricing has generally been more comparable to AMG pricing, but usually undercutting AMG prices. Also, the production M4 will likely lack some of the blingtastic CF detailing seen on this concept....so there will be some cost cutting which will take place. |

I believe Snig's cost analysis/prediction makes a lot of sense and I am really hoping this is indeed the case. I think this account's for the new model (M4) designation (marketing issue) and slight bump in price while still being competitive against the RS5 and the C63 AMG (numbers on 507 edition are amazing!). But when I predicted/budgeted out what I was expecting the M4 to cost I based things off a 70 K base price and at least 15 K in options. This is my worst case scenario. Once above this I do feel that you are going into 911 territory and I have seen some 911 S deals that look competitive for product that's on the lot. Any thoughts?
P.S. I tallied up all of the options on a 4 series and I based my number off of this for options (as an approximation). |

Awesome 911 S. That is a phenomenal car! I see a lot of M3's on Autotrader with unique paint (frozen, etc) and they are all in the mid to low eighties. I think the lime rock with its 10 k premium and the frozen editions are not as easily a comparison, but it validates the point that the M4 loaded up is most likely, if not definitely, going to be a 85 K vehicle. I expect to spend that and I do feel that it will be a good buy as long as it has at least 450 hp and about 400 lb/ft of torque with other enhancements. Otherwise I think it might not be a far enough leap over the E92, especially with AMG offering the power of a 507 edition C 63.

And yes, a slightly less optioned M4 should be $10K more...I'm hoping I can get something around $70K - $75K here in Canada too...but since we always get raped, I guess I'm far off. :
