Apple Carplay FULLSCREEN DIY Coding Now Possible! *DIY*

Allright figured out everything to update the HU and enable full screen Carplay on my F87 M2C. The final trick is to re-subscribe to ConnectedCar are the tricks that were needed.

I had a writeup here, but pulled it. Chances are high things go wrong and I think what I did was lucky in the end. Not the best advice to follow.

(To be honest, it's probably a better idea to just buy this from the vendors on this forum. Faster and safer.)

I've been trying to understand the whole process myself too... at the end of the day it's not rocket science but its just having the correct tools (hardware and software) and understanding the steps involved.... your write up certainly fills in a lot of gaps that's for sure...

One thing I don't get yet is the need for those tokens? What are they all about? And then there is Tokenmaster? What role does he play in this or have I been reading the wrong websites lol

As mine is on evo_K,reading the firmware update post on page 1 which says updates from L to K,does this means my i-level isn’t compatible or I can still flash ?

It needs Firmware Update.

Having the same issue.
I updated from H to Y. Was able to turn carplay back on but I do not see CARPLAY_FULLSCREEN in the HU code?

Tired this but no luck, I don't think I have the right firmware, I check on bmw.com/update. I threw my vin in, and it said I needed a update! Which I downloaded it to my USB, went to my car to update the car and on the idrive it says there's no update needed.

The firmware I have isn't the X or Y?

Update from BMW update is not firmware update.

Hey is there anyway i can get a list of software versions for NBT EVO? I currently have V so it didn't work to get full screen for me either. Is the newest one X or Y? what changes each software?

Newest is Y.
Easiest way for V is to get a patch for Fullscreen

. Coming from hondas/acuras with wired carplay, It was much better to just connect the wire and you're good to go.

Then installed wifi antenna and it works, but split screen.

BimmerCode can access the head unit, it says it need to be restored to its original state.

What now?
