F82 M4 Stage 2 tune hardware requirements?

I'm thinking of getting an exhaust upgrade. Currently it's completely stock (non-ZCP) and I like the sound of the MPE.
However I'm thinking about a full Remus non-res cat-back system as it offers power gains as well as sound.

My question is - will the secondary cat delete from the Remus system be enough for a Stage 2 tune? Or do I need to replace/remove both cats?

Thanks.

You will need a charge pipe, high flow or catless DPs, and NGK plugs.

Which NGK plugs do you suggest?

I recommend downpipe for stage 2. If you do not want to get DP, get a custom map

I've read that a downpipe will noticeably change the rasp of the exhaust. Particularly the MPE suffers from a lot of rasp when paired with a replaced downpipe.
Any experience in that area?

I'm not sure what to do. I doubt I'd want catless for a start as I want to pass an MOT emissions test without bother.
I only know of Miltek doing sports cat downpipes here in the UK too.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

You can skip the downpipe and get a custom map. We offer Bm3 custom maps with Jordan Tuned (Carythelabelguy)

You don't need anything for a stage 2 map. I run it with torque reduction. But if you prefer it, do a custom map. I run stage 2 and my car is totally stock enginewise, no problem at all. And i have the MPE exhaust and i Think it's more than loud enough and don't want it louder, and i want to be able to go through inspection every year too.

Sounds good. I assume though hardware isn't essential, there's going to be extra load on the stock hardware when putting more and more power through it.
Would you recommend any hardware to be changed out to prevent damage? I'm thinking chargepipes, intercooler?

How would I go about buying this stage 2 map in the UK? Is it through customer maps in Bootmod3?

What's the torque reduction? Is that done through the tune/map? I have the BM3 platform license just now so would be great to just throw a new map on.

Thanks again folks.

.
Charge pipe is a must, intercooler is strongly recommended to keep temps down.

The custom map is offered through us not BM3 direct. Jordan will reach out to you and work on a custom map for your car. All you have to do is send him logs after every map.

Can I do a stage 2 tune for my F82 with only hardware change is the Downpipes? Will it affect anything else on the engine should it run fine on everything else stock? Or should I do stage 1 with downpipes.

Note: crankhub upgraded already.

your stock charge pipes will not last with a stage 2 tune, you need to upgrade them as well.

From about 1000 miles I ran stage 2 with just a Single midpipe and intake for around 36k miles.

In that time the only thing that blew was my top mount intercooler.

If the car has some miles on it Charge pipes, top mount intercooler have a higher chance of failing.

Charge pipes are a good idea. I blew a turbo on a stage 2ish custom tune...who knows if it was beating on it on the track or the tune itself. Supposedly safe on factory downpipes....and my tmic failed...

Charge pipes are plastic and can fail at stock power levels. Cheap peace of mind and easy to do on your own.

it's only a matter of time before the plastic charge pipes fail with any stage.

So its mean that high chances to fail but it’s not essential whether increases high chances of fail doesn’t mean that it will not right?

No bro but why not prevent the issue before it happens this isn’t a crankhub we’re talking about it’s a simple charge pipe not even 200 dollars 😂 Most people myself included won’t touch stage 2 without a pinned crankhub which can cost up to 4k. Now I’m on the same page as you I’m guessing balling on a budget I’m younger don’t have stupid money where I can blow 3k on a crankhub but a charge pipe and simple bolt ons should be a no brainer

If you have Bootmod you can lower torque in each gear in 10% steps however you like. I have it on alla gears, works perfect. EVERYTHING else on my car is stock, including charge pipes, downpipes, chargecooler and all. i have no problems whatsoever and no detonations or overheating at all in my logs. I have been running like this for four years.
