Also, If you don't mind. Could you refresh my memory on the functional changes between the 16's and 18's?

This car is an awesome daily driver. I've averaged 15k with no issues. 20K will be just as easy. Only question would be what you will do after it is out of warranty? Self insure or extended warranty? Many other threads have addressed this issue, so you can make an informed decision.

Yes. It's a M4, not a Lambo.

Daily it. I'm at 15,500 at 10 months in. Only problem was a weeping expansion tank replaced by the dealer. Other than that, no issues.

Mine gets close to that, I put 17k - 19k on it per year, mostly city driving. I bought it so I could drive something I enjoy - so I do

Cheers

Wow you guys really rack up some miles. Thats pretty awesome to see.

I just moved to AZ just under 2 years ago and the driving out here is totally different than Chicago. I kinda felt bad for racking up the miles. I would struggle to put 10k a year on my vehicles and now I can see racking up 15k no problemo...32 miles one way to work and 20 miles to any sort of grocery store. Granted the time spent driving is huge. Chicago would take you 2 hours to go 30 miles...here it takes 30 minutes. /End Random Post

The lease on my 16 M4 vert just ended recently (replaced it with a 2020). The 16 was my daily driver and it had 49,000 miles on it when I turned it in. Never had a single warranty repair and other than gas, BMW paid for maintenance and 2 sets of tires never had to do anything else.

I lived in Phoenix for a long time. Yes it's easy to drive allot of miles there.
I used to put about 24k a year and It was pretty much local driving with the occasional drove to Los Angeles

Very doable with this platform.

Had a '16 turned it in after 3 years with 75k on the clock. Not a single issue, didn't even have to replace the brake pads.

I'm in a '19 CS and so far 8 months in I'm at 18k. I need to calm down but I love driving it.

For sure. I guess I never realized how dense Chicago really was until I moved away.

I am trying to find a M for a daily driver to replace a totaled 335i M-Sport MPPK/MPE. Test drove a 2017 Competition M4 and then test drove the M340. M340 is very nice for a 3-series, but only drove 1 mile and turned around as I said the M felt so much more competent.

To each their own but I bought my f80 as a weekend car. Put about 3500 miles a year on it. I couldn't daily drive it. It's a wonderful vehicle don't get me wrong but it's a little too special for the wear and tear of daily driving. Given the hideousness of the new m3 coming out I'm speculating this f80 will age very well and may be worth hanging onto long term.

Yes, even if things wear out faster, you buy a BMW because you want perfection, and as unreliable as it is in the long run you gotta keep repairing her and driving the hell outta her, that's what a car is for

I don't drive 20,000 miles a year but if I did, I wouldn't hesitate to do it in my M4.
