Mine has been stuck at 21.0 for ever, does this not ever change dynamically? I never usually have anything showing there but that hasn’t changed for weeks now that I’ve been checking it.

That one is based on the last time it was reset. So if you have driven 20k miles, it is slow to change that value

How the F do you get 21 mpg anyway!?!

Mine was at 16.3 for the longest time
The dealer reset it during a S/W upgrade and now it is at 18.1 (due to winter type driving)

Go into the menu and you can reset it.

Holding down the BC button on the stalk didn't/wouldn't reset. Ill try the menu option and I have no idea if that is even accurate cause it hasn't changed in forever so its anyone's guess what my actual MPG is.

Strange, works for me every time I fill up. Did you hold it down for a few seconds?

Yea, just remember that its an avg of the mpg since the last reset.

If you havent reset it for years, it wont change much after driving 1K miles...

How do you not get that mileage? My average in town is about 20.5 and it's a 5 mile one way drive and then 5 back. Barely long enough to get the oil temp up honestly. Even got 28 on a 3.5 hour drive up to Chicago averaging 70-85mph on the drive. Surprisingly fuel efficient vehicles

I think last time I did it through the idrive it reset for the trip computer in idrive, don't remember if it changed in the dash. But through the dash holding the NC button for like 5 seconds or so normally resets it. Try it for the average speed section as well and see if it will reset that

It's not that I can't get 21mpg ever - it is that I cannot get it as an overall Avg

I get 30mpg driving 15 miles on the highway home from a night job - but I have to drive like a granny

during the day in traffic, I probably average 12mpg

so - my overall avg is about 18mpg during the winter
and 16mpg during the summer

I got it to reset by holding the button at the end of the stalk. But it seems to stop averaging at some point, does anyone know what the threshold is? Assume its miles but how many?

I would imagine after multiple thousands of miles it would only incrementally change due to the large sample size of mileage. I just recorded about 950 miles from last weekend and it seemed pretty spot on still

I reset it after every fill up. It won't drastically change the longer you drive after resetting.
