2018 Stripper F80, As New

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
USD 67.00

Item Interest
I have no idea how rare this car is at this point; just a feeler. I don't drive it. Might try a 718 Spyder instead. Might buy more bitcoin. Might keep it - Audi just said "all electric" by 2026, I can't believe the other makes are far behind, and I have less than zero interest in an EV.

Those of you familiar with an F80 know exactly what a no-option 2018 is for a configuration. Everyone else, window sticker attached.
  • 5030 miles
  • Never seen rain, snow, salty roads
  • Heated garage storage when not driven
  • Hand washed only and not very often; hasn't needed it
  • No PPF
  • Fully stock, no engine mods
  • Simple coding done for steering / suspension software (GTS/CS)
  • I'm 49 and this is my "nice car" -- broken in carefully around town. Driven only by me and always with "mechanical empathy -- never more than 1/3 throttle and/or over 3500 rpm until the oil is at least 160F. I don't think it's ever seen the rev limiter. I double-declutch pretty much every downshift just for fun so the synchros in the gearbox are likely as new
Asking $67,495. Add $6k for the bitchin' 19" BBS FI-R in satin black with PS4S. Add $3k for the v2 MPE with titanium tips.

I was late in the game (Feb 2019) and had already seen/heard enough about the G80 that I figured a final-year F80 was a safe bet. Nearly picked up an SMB F80 CS that I drove in Winter Park from Fields but, as Andy Preuninger (head of Porsche GT program) once wisely said "flappy paddles are for grandmas" -- I loved the vibe of the CS but just couldn't pull the trigger even with the ca'raaazy deals on them at that time (like, $7xx/mo on a lease crazy).

I don't like metalflake paints and in the F80 world that means Alpine White or paint to sample. I don't have the typical American "oh if the car is over $50k it better have leather seats" affliction -- Carbon Structure is the better choice for many many reasons but Americans generally don't "get it."

Anyway, it was as close as I could find to ideal given what was left at that time.

Pic of first drive once roads cleaned up in Maine (driveways still were sh*t as you can see . . . )

So you didn't order this, but found a stripper spec? That's pretty awesome. Some dealership had balls if that wasn't a cancelled custom order.

Stripper spec is where it's at. Although I splurged on mineral white paint and car play for $850 total. They may not make sense in the used market as much, but for new buyers, the M3 makes way more sense at stripper price than fully loaded, at least for me. The performance per dollar is nuts. Not once did I feel like I had any less car than the 80k+ fully loaded cars.

You're also right about the cloth seats (as an American with first gen immigrant parents). And as an added bonus, you get the 513m wheel, best looking stock wheel and arguably the best looking wheel on the car period.

Awesome car. Keep it - u can't drive Bitcoin.

Consider a PPF full wrap and enjoy the spring to fall driving scene. You won't lose money driving the same mileage rate per year going forward.

Agree. You gotta keep rare specs like this car. They will only be more desirable as the years pass.
