Foil taping your stock wheels is aesthetically unpleasing, and many novices don't generate enough heat to lose wheel weights. However, advanced drivers generate a lot more heat and throw weights fairly readily. I know I do anyway, unless I tape them.

You will feel those boogers while driving on flat straight sections, whether they are stuck to your tires, or you're running over them. It's highly likely you're feeling both, especially, if you're going off the school line, which usually happens when passing or being passed. That's usually different than an out of balance wheel/tire that can physically bounce, if badly off balance.

Again, this is my philosophy, and I know if differs from others. However, I know that my NT01s have great variation in production variances, and some of my balanced tires have a minimal amount of balancing weights, while others have a big block of weights.

Does your shop install them correctly? Meaning with the yellow dot aligned with the valve stem.

I usually find NT01 barely need any weight when correctly installed. However, I had some installed at a different shop and forgot to tell them to line up the dot with the stem and the wheels ended up with a long stripe of balancing weights.

Yep, installed correctly. There is a few inches of variation as they are fitting it, but mostly spot on. One has two rows 6 inches long.

Speaking of NT01s, I am back to seeing seams opening again. You?

Yes, same here. One of my rear 305 was splitting. But I still wore it down to the cord without issue.

I don't know, I think mine look aesthetically pleasing and if anyone looks at my tires, they'll say cool he's an advanced driver I know this isn't enough foil tape, but the stuff is really strong and maybe when I move up in the track world, both the weights and tape fall off!

Running satin black Apex Arc-8's 19x10 square for my track wheels. Found this nice matte black aluminum tape which works well for wheel weights and matches the wheel finish almost perfectly (if anyone is interested):

That's very nice detail work on the foil tape. I just tear off some and slap it on. Now I feel like I need to try and follow your good example. More work for me.

Take note although it looks nice, it provides minimal protection, the foil should also make contact along the long sides of the weights. Tough nothing have fallen off yet
