How long do slicks last?

I got a set of take off perelli DH tires. 18" tires and the fronts only lasted a weekend. Is this typical for slicks? When I got them they looked like they had plenty of rubber but now the tread holes are gone
What are people's experience with slicks? I was hoping to get some more mileage out of them.

You probably just got a bad set of take offs. My first set that I bought I stumbled across on ebay and they lasted 20 minutes before they started showing cords. Alternatively, I've purchased sets that have only been used for 1 qualifying session by a race team and I've gotten 1 full day out of them (5+ sessions) and then basically used them as warm up tires. They will still function for another 1-2 days after that, but grip is compromised and your times will reflect that. If you aren't out there to set personal best times, I'd say 2-3 days is very reasonable.

What sort of camber were you running front and rear?

Unfortunately stock alignment. Getting camber plates. Hopefully that helps.

Also not uncommon (cough raise hand) if the car has a bit of a push and you are overdriving them. Without camber though I'm surprised they lasted a day.

Camber makes that big of a difference?

Huge difference. Probably 1.5 sec a lap as well. The Pirelli's were made to run 3 - 3.5 degrees camber.

You may as well light your money on fire if you are trying to run stock camber with slicks. If you need help with alignment specs for these tires I can find my settings and share them with you. It's given me very even wear and great car feeling.
