I decided to try the JLG wheel cleaner last night. I followed the instruction on the bottle: rinse the wheel, apply the cleaner, wait 1-2 min and clean with brush, rinse again and dry the wheel. This morning when I pull my car out the garage, I saw those stains on all 4 wheels. I couldn't remove the stains so I took my car to local chemical guy shop, they couldn't remove it either...... my wheel is satin black and now it look grey... wtf they put in their product.... any advice?

Edit: Car was parked in the garage all day. I tried many cleaning products before and never seen any chemical that eats away paint and leave stains like this.

Wow
Looks like it ate the paint away
That's not satin black anymore
Try calling HRE directly and see what they say they might have a solution for you but looking at the picture you have I can only assume that the cleaner removed your satin black paint and it might have to be repainted now
Good luck and sorry to see that happen to such nice wheels

I see on jay Leno’s garage website they have a number, I would try that and see how it goes, it might take a couple calls but If it did really did destroy your wheels somebody else should be paying for new wheels.

Directions for use: Make sure your wheels are cool to the touch. Rinse wheels with clean water, then spray Jay Leno’s Garage Wheel Cleaner onto the surface.
Allow 1-2 minutes for cleaner to penetrate. Note, any longer may cause damage to wheels.
Agitate dirt and brake dust with a wheel cleaning brush or cloth.
Rinse with clean water, wipe dry with a clean microfiber towel. Do not allow product to dry on wheel’s surface.

1-2 seconds is kinda ridiculous, they should definitely fix that. If you did follow the 1-2 seconds maybe your brakes were hot and they dried on there fast and did that to your rims, but that’ll be a hard one to get covered since it actually says there will be harm after 1-2 seconds and all that.

I did allow 1-2 min to penetrate then used wheel brush after and use power washer to rinse it off. I used leaf blower and micro towel to dry the wheel. It wasn't like this after the wash... I used many wheel cleaner before but nothing like this...

Was your brakes hot or even warm when you applied the solution? Not during the wash off but when you applied the solution. I’ve put on some solution before on rims and they dried instantly because it was after I just drove.

Car sits in the garage all day. I pull the car out the garage and everything is cool to the touch. The stain on the copper lip was easy to wipe off but the center is not going any where.

I don’t trust Jay Leno products. Clearly ppl buy it for the name. Go with Sonax

Is it just 1 wheel ruined? HRE should be able to refinish these easily
