That would certainly bring on the for me. I have to believe it must be something related to a government regulation or issue holding things back. I would offer to just let me pick it up from the factory back door for locals!

I think it has more to do with keeping the biggest market happy M market in the EU is not that big, hence less important I guess... If I would order an 316d today, I would be picking it up in 6-7 weeks...

Just to be clear. Your purchase order should have been done already. Until BMW AG gets the PO they will not confirm build date or issue a VIN needed to sign your final finance papers 10 days before you leave on trip.

Purchase Agreement and contract can't be established till the VIN is assigned. The PO is a separate document that leads to the assignment of the VIN.

My dealer says that usually the VIN is assigned a few days before the start of production. Just have to wait a few days for the VIN to show up so I can sign the PA and send her over to my lender.

Just signed my PO today and my car went into production yesterday (Monday) gonna send this out tomorrow then my CA will send me the finance contract soon as he gets this.

When I call the 800 #, mine still says Scheduled for Production with no confirmed date! Can't wait! Arrrgh!

Just got off the phone with my CA, my car started production today and he has a VIN number already. Looks like I can finalize my finance paper work today.
SUCCESS!!!!!! Counting this last 30 days down to the hour
