DCT Tuning

Anyone wanting to try out some custom launch control files?

I've been waiting here since 2019 for a transmission tune to stop wheel spin... not just some boost reduction by gear either.
It seems as though people here are only interested in dyno numbers and not real world results unless on drag radials and/or 100-200 kph times. The Achilles heel of this platform is the chassis, diff, and trans. A tune just exaserbates this issue. Still waiting, lemme know if you find it...

Just saying, the torque in these cars is ridiculous. The transmission, differential, and chassis cannot handle the surge of torque at 1800 RPM and just squirms. I've never had a car like this especially a turbo car where lag is expected. The car as a whole does A LOT of things well though. I think someone needs to either tune the transmission to slip more OR detune the torque and up the horsepower. My .02 cents.
On a side note, when the Michelins are brand new, it's not so much an issue. Give it 5k miles though and it's slip city.

I personally love the engine tuning in my ‘16 compared to the newer engine tuning with peak torque in the low 2k rpm range. I’ve never had an issue with putting power down especially at the track when you’re in the 4-7k rpm range. The F8x has phenomenal chassis tuning. I wish the power curve was a tad bit more linear at higher engine speeds and didn’t plateau at such a low rpm (trade off between turbo lag and high rpm power delivery) but otherwise I have no issues with the s55 engine tuning. Best daily driver of any M3/M4 generation. The driving characteristics and power/torque delivery of my s65s and s55 couldn’t be more different! It’s hard to believe they’re successive generations of the M3/M4.

Don't get me wrong, the car has a lot of power and that's a good thing. It just cannot put it down well in first. First gear is almost unusable unless you feather on roll out which is usually what I do then pedal to the floor in second.

I’m running a two-way adjustable suspension which allows adjusting R rebound to help with traction/weight transfer. Stock non-edc suspension was a mess for traction and cornering! Suspension was my first mod.

The use of spacers and all this aesthetically driven nonsense is not going to make things better.
  1. Get some decent tyres on there (PS4S to be specific)
  2. ensure your geometry is set up - if running adjustable suspension, go softer on the rear to get the car to squat when launched
  3. get a GTS/Motorsport flash on your diff and TC, as well as the stage 3 xhp gearbox map - and that’s literally the recipe!

After that, unless you regularly drive on snow or ice, you’ll have more than enough traction and will be able to launch your car with much more ease at stock power. I was personally running 700whp+ and was able to get very competitive launches with this set up.
Thanks for your wealth of knowledge, BUT.

1) I do not have spacers, my wheels are stock.
2) I have PS4 star spec tires on the rear.
3) I am on stock suspension.
4) I have GTS flashed trans, diff, and CS flashed dampers.

This car cannot launch, everyone knows this.

Yes. They are PS4S the same ones that come on the G82 and I get an alignment with each new set of tires and change sets at 8k miles all 4.

As mentioned before, when the tires are new it's better at hooking up. I have about 4K miles on these 4 tires too.

Again, I think this car cannot launch well unless using drag radials. (it's no secret) My car is 100% stock from bumper to bumper with the exception of the GTS/CS tune, CF aero bits, and I live in a warm climate. I had way quicker launches with the normal comp pack tune and I think I will be switching back as I prefer it, it's faster. (to me)

I would be interested in a tune that lowered torque and upped the horsepower and/or a DCT tune to better put it down but I think that will never happen.

I have the OEM software that Kubax sells. Many people run this flash.
