Mounts allow you to leave just the small aluminum block on the trunklid so you can not draw attention when not tracking. To put it back on, it's as easy as setting it on the trunk and screwing it down. The base is threaded and makes for an easy on/off mount. (Or you can leave it on all the time.)

For those considering - Yes you still need to drill holes into the trunklid (three per side) to mount the wing, so be aware of that.

Mounts cost me $400, wing was $1500. $750 is a steal. Price is firm (I can use this wing on my racecar as well, so in no hurry to sell)
