Tuning question

I just flashed mhd stage 2 tune. Do you guys recommend to go with cs or gts transmission tune?

I heard running e85 in the long term may cause injector failure and it requires cleaning once a while. Will run e30 avoid these issue? Do I need to clean my injector after running e30 in long term?

I am in California, how many gallon of E85 should I run for E30? 5 gallon?

You’ll have to check your local station’s e85 to be sure, but I found 5-5.5gal of e85 got me to E30. But that was topping off with 93, you may need a little more with 91 octane. I’d recommend you test your local ethanol and then calculate how much 91 you need to hit E30. I’m betting Cali’s E85 is more consistent than PA, but it’s still worth testing.

Also, expect to replace your spark plugs more frequently running Stage 2 or E30. I was having cold/hot start stalling issues, so I swapped my 18k mile old NGK 97506’s for some fresh ones, and my buttery smooth idle returned. Haven’t read a lot about injector failures on these cars, but a bottle of injector or cleaner once or twice yearly seems like cheap insurance for those running a lot of Ethanol.

GTS if you can

Cleaning isn't the problem. Running full E85 requires the HPFPs be run at a very high PSI. Sometimes the overpressure breaks an injector gate. Again, cleaning or lube has nothing to do with it.

Running E30 maps don't incur the overpressure. E30 avoids the issue, and adds a good bit of torque. You can run E30 all the time, no switch back to gas needed.

2gal E85 plus 5gal pump gas makes a half tank of E31. When your miles-to-empty says — — you have 1gal in tank. Account for that gallon.

If you're getting ACN Gas then you can up the E85 to 2.5gal.

Thanks a lot for your information! Do I need to do cleaning if running E30 in a long term?

No you don't need cleaners.
Don't use additives in this car, gas or oil.

Thank you so much. Is it possible to have your IG account? I just bought this car couple weeks ago so I might have more questions. Can I ask you if I have any other questions? You are a true expert man!

If I decide to do OTS E85, then I need to cleaning? So basically running E30 avoids the cleaning and failed injector issue?

Just make sure you get quality E85 from a high volume fuel station. Go to the station where other high performance cars fill up on corn since you'll know the ethanol hasn't been sitting for a long time.

Even on E85 you don't need cleaning. It's an over pressure issue that can break injectors.

Yes, E30 avoids it.

Damn good info! I've been considering E85 on this platform since I use it on my old school but sounds like E30 may be the way to go.

What's the most efficient way to go about it via BM3? I'm assuming an ethanol sensor is still required. Would it be best to run a flex multi map in case you don't nail the 30% blend at full up?

Thank you so much! Because the f82 is my daily. I don’t want it to stop me in the middle of the road because of injector failure or coils issue haha. I guess E30 will be the way to go. Have you heard anyone experienced injector failure running E30?

I have not.

Since injectors do break sometimes for other reasons you might see the odd failure out there on E30, like any other or stock map.
