Someone recently posted a video of a Jaguar F type with a supercharged V6 that sounded great, also parked and not at load, and people loved it. I can't see how this sounds any worse? To me this sounds RAW and angry, like a performance car should. I'd get chills starting this up in my garage, or anywhere anyone would notice

Its not the best sounding thing in the world and sometimes does sound like a cross between a lawnmower and a small snowmobile but I could definitely live with it... That blue M3 in the video looks insanely good. that color looks way better to me outside vs under show lights. I found myself very jealous of whoever was driving it.

This was similar to the e46 m3 release. Some liked the rasp some hated it. In the end everyone bought the car anyway.
I for one loved it and had two of them. I will buy one of these also. |

The baby crying at 3:00 of m4 clip is a e90/92 S65 owner! So, yeah, the cars sounded better then some of the earlier vids... Then I watched\listened to this... a lot of the S65 noise is induction, NOT exhaust. Exhaust noise is not a factor in me purchasing the new m's.

The worst way to evaluate an exhaust is when the car is parked and someone is just revving the motor. Every car is going to sound its best note under acceleration. Test drive a Z4 with the top down and hear a better sound than this. Heck, most of the E9x M3 exhaust videos sound like crap too because all it has is some twit revving the engine.
That said, This exhaust sounds to me like missed opportunities. The idle has no presence, and the revs have no harmonics. This car needs some new cans at the very least for this girl to smile at the sound. My E36 sounds better than this. So let's hear what Eisenmann, Gintani, Dinan, Supersprint, and even the inevitable M Performance Exhaust do for this car. |

Iphone sucks the other member was right. Listened to it on my comp and it was much better, but we could still differ in taste. Overall it's exactly how I expected it to sound and I like what I hear. For me, M has always been lacking in how loud their exhausts have been, but this one seems to be plenty loud. Aftermarket muffler and catless dp will just make it a monster of a sound

I hate to say it, but it sounds like crap. I'm sure it's an amazing car, let's face it - sound is secondary to the way it performs, but it sounds horrible. My N55 135 sounds considerably better.

I'm not going to say it sucks because I thought every exhaust I had heard prior to getting an HPF on my 335i sounded like death. I'd bet with the right exhaust set-up the new M3/4's will prove to be the same, music to our ears! It'll be nice to hear some modded M's once these things go live!
