Help me decide how much my nose is worth, despite my face

Took the E90 (yes, we still have it) to the dealer for some recall work when the fan quit blowing. While there, notice valve cover leak. You have the car, fix it. This was about a week ago

Few days ago I open the hood and the wiring protector across the top of the engine was laying on top of the engine. They obviously didn't put it back when gasket was changed. Texted a pic to SA, he said come on by

I get there, pop the hood and he launches into Our guys wouldn't do that. It's all burned and

Get out from under my hood. SLAM and I'm back in the car making noisy but safe turns and yelling I'm not going to deal with this bullshit

On my way home I get a text about what a good customer...we ordered the part and will call when it's here


I didn't respond yet. I'm willing to drive 45 minutes either north or south if we get the X5 45e next year. Spoke to my Indy and she told me the part is dealer only, maybe just pick it up and let Indy install

At this point I'm ready to NEVER set foot in that dealership again, even though it is 5 minutes from my house

I'd give them another chance by talking to the service manager and/or general manager and explaining what you just wrote here: essentially you shouldn't have to check their work and when they make a mistake their policy has to change from "blame the customer": people who bring their vehicles for repair typically don't immediately start fucking with them right afterwards. Also, calling a customer a liar over a small parts issue is not customer-first. Get their assurance this was a mistake, get their sincere apology (people make mistakes, times are tough, forgiveness/valor, etc). If not, then, yeah, find somewhere else.


• On the X5 45e

Daaayyymmmm these things are hot! In my searching about 70% of dealers told me either nothing lower than MSRP or they flat out weren't interested. Further, a few dealers I have a history with all told me demand is off the charts - normally I'd ignore that as hype, but I"ve now heard enough of it from dealers who we'd already agreed not to do business. Golffrr is saying the same thing too, and so are some forum members.

Could be they just came out in June combined with covid supply chain problems and shutdowns, but as a veteran of low stock M cars it kinda feels that way.

I maintain the X4 45e could be BMW's breakout hit despite being a PHEV. It'll certainly be interesting to watch ...

I might cry from relief this morning! Hubby told me last late spring he is switching jobs but I completely had forgotten about it. Thanks to covid, all Finnish engineers have been stuck in their home offices from late February, which has been hell.

With the unemployment numbers climbing here too, we should all be happy to to have the financial security we have but instead of course our Finnish mentality makes my friends and I complain endlessly. The engineers, which is all of our male population i think, make this easy.

It's like the men have spent most of the year perfecting the art of annoying us. Our dearest family friend now spends time shopping for pants that wouldnt make an annoying swoosh sounds while her husband obsessively rubs his own tighs while in conference calls. She has sworn from march on the sound comes to her dreams even. It has come to a point where the hubby has to go to their summer home to work so she can work from their home. He is no longer allowed to wear pants at home at all.

There has been stories about wives burning all pens in houses. The constant clicking has become an issue. One of my neighbors is contemplating murder because of constant ankle rolling.

Well, as we all know I'm an extra calm person, not at all temperamental ever so what my hubby does has gone down well here.

When he started working from home, stealing my study mind you, he stopped shaving. The blotches, the hair pointing everywhere, the man looks like a half skinned bear. I've stopped putting on lights because I can't watch it. Of course that's not all of it.

Thanks to covid, he has been naming animals he feeds outside. Birds, squirrels, a hedgehog. They all have individual names. He has charts of sightings of them. He imitates them, for example a few weeks ago he saw a squirrel using it's tail as an umbrella, he started to rub his back while commenting on the newly discovered ability of the bushy rat. Now I can't look at the man without seeing him with a tail.

Then there is the licking of the ugliest moustache ever grown. The sound has gotten ingrained to my brain and I'm pretty sure that's the only sound produced by a human that can penetrate through my 50 cm thick concrete floor.

My brothers wife is a prosecutor and I asked her if all these things can be used to argue self defense. Since the dear brother has taken up rubbing his belly all day, every day, she thinks I should test this. A crime of passion it would be not.

It is only fair to admit that us ladies are not doing much better. One of my friends is now a compulsive knitter, one is painting bad art, I have so many new power tools I should start leasing them out just to have some floor space even for a bit. I also have a salvaged wood collection rottening on my yard. My neighbor has a bonsai tree forest on her yard cuz she keeps trimming them all day, every day.

I'm hoping he will shave to fetch new gear from the new company. That's my only hope I'm holding on to. Considering they all are looking like bears these days it is a slim hope, but that's all I have.

Anyway. I should be reading a boring report on how the economy is doing and adjusting a piece of portfolio according to the info, but I swear I keep hearing the moustache licking from the other side of the house. The neighbor is cutting shit on her yard so I'm guessing ankles are rolling there.

I'm telling you guys, married folks should not have to endure spending time together. This is hell.

Your husband sounds like a great guy! But does he have this set up? My wife was annoyed that I squirrel proofed the birdfeeder, so I got another pole, put a hummingbird feeder, a corn cob holder, and the squirrel obstacle course featuring a coconut, with peanuts and bird food in the coconut.

Around 8 am today, my aunt called me again. She has not been well for a while, and the doctors were just figuring out what's the issue. The big guess is cancer, bowels the main concern, runs in the family.


I'm not going to handle this well if it's cancer.

They want to give us shit. We are in need of nothing but I'd like to keep my aunt around. This was told to them, from the hubby and I. I fucking love the fact the hubby is happy with what we make, not with we can inherit.

There isn't much more that needs to be said regarding the G8x cars.

They are so far from good looking I am surprised people like it because they look different. The way I look at it is, BMW pretty much let the F chassis generation criticism get to their heads and in some weird attempt decided, lets make the G8x front end look like a pig.

There are no mods that hide that ugly ass front. The more you do, the weirder it looks due to the polarizing nature of the G8x front.

Porsche would catch hell if they ever did anything like this to the 911. They got enough crap when they put Turbo 4 in the Cayman/Boxer they went back against that decision immediately on refresh.

These decisions by BMW to minimize costs will just make BMW the German version of Nissian in a few years.

(1.) They focus group tested the design and we're not in the target market ... if so, who is?

Dodge wants it’s Charger hood back and the Supra wants its rear end back. That is one ugly confused looking car. How do you take one of the best looking cars of all time in the F8X M3/4 and do this?????

Uhm... hello dummy, you see the same damn layout in EVERY BMW right now. I also would point out that, all of that setup BMW has shown, are 100% individual ordered. Which also means it costs you a pretty penny to do so.
