I literally have this on my watch. This key is largely redundant and cumbersome besides some extra features the app doesn't have.

Guess I'm some kind of savage for keeping my fob on a key ring

I keep the M4 and X3 fob on one ring with my house key, office key, etc all together. It's a little bulky but personally I like grabbing one set no matter which car I'm taking. Keys in front left pocket. Front right is my phone, back right is my wallet.

I just throw the fob in my pocket and I have a slim wallet as well. Attached to the fob is a mini flashlight, cuff key and 32gb usb drive.
I don't even know where my house key is. I have keypad locks on the doors. I haven't even used the front door in forever. I go in and out through the garage door which also has a keypad lock because sometimes I forget to close the garage door.

Slightly off topic OP, but do you also keep your interior completely free of stuff?

My car has nothing in it other than a couple documents in the glove box, and it's my sensory deprivation spa 😆

I'm not the OP, but I do this! Nothing in the door sills, nothing in the center console. The only thing that makes my car look "lived in" is my cell phone mount. The glove box contains the manual and a microfiber towel for dusting. NOTHING ELSE.

I like to replicate that feeling of getting in a brand new car every single day. It's clean, there isn't shit everywhere, and all the compartments are basically empty. It's so satisfying.

My wife's car however, it's got shit everywhere. Multiple pairs of sunglasses in the center console, door sills. Change in the door, napkins in the armrest, lotions, pens, plastic utensils (?), napkin box in the back seat, neck pillows, magazines in the door pockets, water bottles (full and empty). It's the family car for kid hauling so it makes sense, but damn, I still end up cleaning it before driving it. Gives me anxiety.

Nothing! Not even the cell phone mount, not even a spec of dust! My neighbors are probably sick of seeing me clean the car.

I have a small wallet where I keep registration, (use a phone app for auto insurance card), a Visa card, 20 bucks broken down, and about 2 bucks in quarters. This goes in the little pocket to the left of the steering wheel and a small umbrella in the glove box.

Wrong key today but I do plan on doing the Gates fob swap. If you are looking for a great slim wallet try Anson Calder. I've tried many but this is the best

The old key fob in the right pocket doesn't work if you drive a CS because no comfort access I got tired of digging around in my pocket for it so I bought a small spring loaded clip and it stays on a belt loop. It's always right there, right where I can see it and easily get to it. And no it does not get in the way of the seatbelt. I realized it's a pretty good way to go so now I do the same thing with my Grand Cherokee fob which DOES have comfort access. :

I never understand guys that walk around with wallets containing receipts from 2 years ago. I attached the fob to the money clip on the back of the wallet with a hair tie I stole from my wife, and I have an iPhone X. I'm so minimalist I seriously considered going back to an iPhone se. I have a smart lock, so no house keys and make the wife check the mail since I hate traditional keys.

This is probably as minimal as I can go but hoping for some ideas until a few years when I can get a g series m that should allow me to ditch the fob and use phone only.
Anson Calder / 3D Design Key Case - Type B / Bellroy Key Cover - all in black leather.

3D Case - Prevents key / fob from separating & you don't have to give anyone your actual key. Size is what it is.

Bellroy - Prevents regular keys from scratching your phone or any other valuables in the same pocket. It is well made & looks "clean"

Anson Calder - The best minimalist wallet available.

+ 1. I was searching for a minimalist style wallet and went through 5-10 different options before taking delivery of Anson Calders Card Wallet...in my opinion, it's the best.

Thing is, I really need a wallet that can hold my key fob in it, I'd lose that thing for sure. I'm tempted to rip out the guts of the key fob and put that in the wallet to make it thinner

CS is an awesome car but there is no way I can live without comfort access. I went from a previous bimmer with comfort access to one without, and regretted it pretty much everyday till I got back in the m4
