I'd consider owning both but they are at such different ends of the spectrum I doubt I'd ever trade one for the other. Not to mention only 450hp for a truck that size it must be a real dog, that's what our cars make. Seems like they would need at least 600hp for their purpose.

+1 What he said.

IF I ever need a truck, it will be the Ford Raptor, awesome choice, but it would be as a second or third vehicle for me. Definitely would never trade in the M3 to daily commute in a truck.

I have both. Different vehicles. But if you have the itch for a pickup it’s raptor or nothing.

Completely agree. I want a Raptor and will likely get one, but it will be to replace my current truck, not my M3. I’ve test driven several. They’re not dogs, but they’re not Baja racers either. Definitely would benefit from more power. But still fun as is.

+1, first truck I've owned, only owned cars up until this point so it was like night and day picking up the truck, had a nice 1900 mile road trip to familiarize myself with it.

the 2019's are right around the corner, a couple of changes to note is the new self adjusting suspension by fox & driver and passenger seat's by recaro.

lots of deals to be had on 2018 models, one dealer in ohio is offering $5k off the trucks on their lot.

Wow, when I was looking at them a year ago, SoCal dealers wanted $10-$20k over sticker. F that. When it comes time to buy, I’ll look out of state. Not sure how it works to get it delivered to Cali though.

I found mine in Mississippi for close to $4k off, registering it wasn't too hard, just weigh it, smog, vin check at the dmv and pay for registration and remainder of the sales tax.

The only dealer I know of selling in ca at msrp is la mesa/Penske ford, all other dealers are still asking $5k-20k over. Escondido tried to sell me a truck at $5k over msrp, saving my out of state deal saving $4k would net the same deal in the end

i don't think this is an unreasonable question. A truck would suite my lifestyle better in many ways, but only one car for now.

Alright then.

The new Raptors are awesome, but no can do because they sound absolutely awful! Our F8X cars sound much better for a turbo 6 cylinder (and that ain't saying much). I've had a few guys with them get on it racing by me and I think I threw up in my mouth a little but it was so bad. I was like "what the hell?" when I heard that sound. The old Raptor with the V8 sounded awesome, I would consider getting that one.

I think ventilated (cooled) seats are available on the Raptor.

Isn't the Raptor getting a V8 option again soon??

I had a 2014 Raptor with 6.2L NA V8. It was a blast, fun to run over bumps, potholes, curbs or anything else with no worries. Was a pain to park in tight lots, but as long as u plan ahead and are willing to park a few rows back it's all good.

I never undersdood the Rapter. It's a showy, super expensive half ton pickup that most people will just use as regular transportation. It's nowhere near as fun as a sports car so why not have a badass car and a cheap, clean, used F150 for actual truck duties?

Raptor is cool but doesn't serve a purpose in my mind. I can't see an M3 guy replacing the M3 for a Rapter.

It's a fun toy in many ways compared to a regular truck. Raptors drive way different than a regular truck - floats over everything without effort. It's comfortable and dare I say luxurious. It also holds its value better than most trucks as long as you don't pay over sticker. I had mine with no silly stickers so it looked less showy.

I'd prefer a regular truck in the utility department for hauling and towing stuff.

I'm waiting for the Raptor Ranger.

M3 for weekend. Raptor for commute.

I have both. Stock 450 bhp is pretty good,
Low 5 second 0-60. No dog by any means.
They both have a function. The raptor is my
Zombie apocalypse vehicle. Winters or summer
Dune jumping duties, plus all the other regular
Truck duties. Cant go wrong

Ford did such a great job with the looks of this truck. And it is luxurious; and totally floats over bumps. Awesome commuter for crappy urban roads.

Isn't the M3/4 just a showy car that most people use for regular transportation? Not saying I disagree with you, but let's be real, we are no one to talk considering we own a street legal race car that most of us only use for DD duties. And I think fun is relative. Having driven a raptor before (my godfather has one) I can see how that could be fun on a DD commute in certain places of this country. I'm not necessarily getting by to trade in my M3 for one, but I kind of get it.

As crazy as it sounds, there is probably more folks cross shopping than you think. I traded my GT350 on my F80 but really considered a Raptor. I already have a Tundra so I got the F80 and a TRD Pro Tacoma with manual transmission which makes a nice daily driver. Still may consider a Raptor at some point, as I think it is the best all around daily driver for me.
As much as I love sports cars, they are best enjoyed on a track or desolate twisty road for me. My daily grind is actually more suited to the Raptor as I commute, park around dumbasses, haul my mountain bike and other cargo regularly but only occasionally get to rip up an empty mountain road....
