M4CS to which Tesla model?

I've decided to give Tesla a try for our second car. I'm going to keep at least one M car in the family (either G8x M3/4 or F95 X5 M).

I'm coming out of an M4CS so I want one of the performance variants. The Model X has grown on me - I'm seeing it less and less as a mini van. I know the Performance model does 0-60 in sub 3 seconds which is nuts!

Anyone have one in their stable?

Just to prepare you, the 0-60 blast will be fun for a bit and then lose its appeal (I owned a 991 Turbo S, so I know). No matter which Tesla you choose, it's going to be a driving experience let-down coming from an M3/M4.

It's really a one-trick pony in this regard. It would make for a very convenient daily, though, so I definitely see the appeal there.

I agree. had a modded GTR and after a while its accerlation gets old. its fun for a while though... and you gotta remember alotta people have never had a car that runs faster than 12's in the 1/4 mile. so to them its 'fast'.

Best situation is to treat and think about the Tesla like a commuter, and keep your fun gas car around, if you haven’t owned an EV before.

You mean one M-car or M-truck, right?

The Model 3 Performance will be a match in terms of size. The Model S will be more spacious and more luxurious.

Sounds like you are a truck guy, so go and test drive Model X.

Not sure the Turbo S is quite the right analogy. While it’s a rocket, it’s also a great driver’s car and handler - much more so than any M car or Tesla. Maybe not quite a GT car... That said, the Tesla is not an awful handling car either.
