M4 CS lip installed (RW Carbon)

For the longest time I've held off putting on a lip on the front of the car for mainly 2 reasons:
-I never really saw a lip solution that I liked other than the oem m performance, but to do that would mean I'd have to go with the carbon fiber splitters which I totally dislike (doesn't make any sense to cover an existing body element with a carbon sleeve on top of it..)
-My high maintenance fear of inevitably hitting something or a curb/ramp (even though I'm on stock suspension/height)

But ever since I saw M4 CS pictures, I fell in love with it's lip. So decided to go with RW Carbon since they just came out with this specific design.

Fitment was spot on, though there's a few holes that don't match the base M4 bumper and so they don't get screwed in at all (maybe designed straight off the CS bumper design?). The rest of the holes drill straight into the bottom of the bumper. Just need to remove or trim some of the hanging splash guards in the front, and drill with self tapping screws (I used 3/4" because that's what I had laying around, but RW said to use 1").

I LOOOOOVVVVVEEE the look!! Build quality and carbon weave is absolutely exceptional; it has solid weight and feel to it. Not a hint of being flimsy. Only took half an hour (had my car lifted with some jacks).

Sorry my car was not very clean today for the best pics :/

Looks good. The CS lip design is nice. Nice to hear such a positive review from ******** as I am looking at some of their stuff.

Looks good. I have the same lip installed on an M3. I’m very surprised it only took you 30 mins to install. It took me much longer to install than that since on mine only 2 mounting pointed lined up with factory screws. Perhaps it’s different on an M4. Any pics of the underside? What did you do for the center mounting point and ones that would have attached to the brackets that isn’t supplied?

Fitment also looks similar to mine. Small gap near the wheel arches.

Thanks! Agreed on that tiny gap by the wheel arch, guess I can't call it "perfect" lol. And yes only the 2 end tabs are designed to line up with the factory screw holes. All the other holes sit flush up against the bottom of the bumper, and so you just have to drill those screws into the bumper as you go along; with a power drill it takes just minutes to drill self tapping screws on. The center mounting point with that perpendicular screw home doesn't get used at all. I figured maybe it's used on an actual CS model.

I don't have pics of the bottom but I'll see if can get some.

EDIT: actually after looking at actual M4 CS images up close zoomed in, the little gap at the edge of the lip and wheel arch line is there also, so looks like this replica is an exact match to bmw's CS lip

Looking beautiful
btw any ground clearance issues? Whats the ground clearance after CS lip installed? I believe M4s has ground clearance of 4.8 inches or 5 inches without any lip installation.

Clearance is a little more concerning naturally after installing a lip even on stock height lol, but mine is measuring to be 5 1/8" from the ground.

Met up in person with ReddsektoR yesterday afternoon to check out his Remus Exhaust and saw the lip in person. Looks very sick in person and more unique than the typical lip most Ms have. Doesn't stick out too much like compared to the GTS front lip, so this is definitely a good compromise.

Nope, bumper doesn't get removed. The lip just bolts on to it with 12 extra screws. The lip does have a couple of bracket extensions, 1 on each side, and 1 perpendicular chassis mount in the middle, probably from the real M4 CS, but these do not get used on the base M4, so its a very simple install.

How does the lip feel after installation if you press down on it with your hand?

Does it feel solid like it is securely installed or does it feel loose or flimsy?

im thinking about getting one, but am concerned about the stability of it at high speeds, especially since it doesn't come with any brackets

Honestly, I put a fair amount of force down on it with my hands after installing it, and it was solid, not a hint of movement. I have absolutely no worries. If you're super anal about these kinds of things, as I can be sometimes, using 3M tape along with the screws would probably be top notch.

It depends on your driving habits and road conditions. If you avoid obstacles it would only suffer minor road pebbles and etc. If you hit some debris on the road it might survive but it would be f-ed up as with all CF parts. Structural strong but not impact resistant like ABS or polyurethane parts.

Thanks for the input.

Did they include screws for you? Can you take a picture of the screws you used to install it?

No they didn't include screws and I told them they should mention that in their description so customers have transparency, and also what kind of screws to use. But not a big deal since I got my answers very quickly thru email.

I forgot my screws at my friend's house (owner of the Hellcat in the pic) where I installed it. But we're basically talking about 1" self tapping metal screws that you can get at Home Depot, like this:
