Bump for my question Below..
Car going in Thursday Morning.. and I do have a sharp piece of metal stuck in my drivers front ... I too have the Tire Warranty. just hit 9k on my tires. ( well sort of) I have already had 1 front and 1 rear replaced MPSS due to nail in tires. My question now is if I get a nail in a tire or worse something happens to two tires again. I don't want to get stuck with 3 MPSS and 1 Conti or 2 MPSS 1 front and 1 rear and 2 conti's 1 front and 1 rear. SO I GUESS what Im wondering is b/c it isn't safe to mix tires. would they just replace with 4 Conti's?? If so that may not be a bad route honestly. my current tires with 9k and good tread left but not great and getting 4 new Conti Tires with 0 miles b/c one tire got a nail/puncture etc. @ $50 per replacement for tires due to the Tire and rim Insurance 2 Bills out the door for 4 new tires not a bad gig. This happen to anyone??? Thoughts ? Curious as to how they handle this.

The stock tires sizes suck anyways.
I am surprised they are doing that with only the M3/M4 and not the M5.

Really? You're telling people to get track tires instead summer performance tires?
You cannot compare Competition tires to Street tires. This thread is obviously about street tires, and your recommendation for the OP to instead equip track tires is ridiculous as track tires require heat to get grip, while street tires do not. If you can't get a new set of MPSS tires, I would recommend Continental 5P tires which came with my car. Last edited by Daxos; 11-13-2016 at 07:38 PM.. Reason: Editing post to clarify |

It's a capable street tire for people living in very warm environments with very little rain. It is not a capable street tire below ~60 degree ambient or with any sort of standing water compared to say the MPSS or several other max performance summer tires.

So I just found about this backorder issue as I am in need of new rear tires. I didnt realize it was so tough to find the PSS tires. After going through the forum, I have decided to go with the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11. I still have a decent amount of tread left on the front tires, is it horrible that I go ahead and switch out the rears for the RE-11 right now and then in the spring switch the front ones out? Let me know what y'all think about that. I'm pretty sure I know the answer but figured I would throw it out there. In addition to that, I am thinking about doing 285s in the rear and 265s in the front. Whats the verdict on the wider tires?

I upgraded my MPSS to 265/295 and they fit perfectly and provide more grip. If you go that route, make sure to get the M0 spec fronts and BMW Star spec rears. |
