I just successfully disabled my blinker volume.

I edited the following value

Kombi --> 300B KI_Parameter --> BLINKER_VOLUME_CONTI
Werte=00, 00, 00, 00

I believe max volume is FF, FF, FF, FF.
Default: E0, F0, FF, FF

That's cool, what is the reason you want to disable it? The audible cue is important to help remember to turn it off, and even with that there are folks driving on HWYs in a straight line with their turn signal and not switching lanes !!!

Trust me. I'm not one of those people. I'm very anal with my signal.
Some cars you can change the volume very easily (like my wife's Mazda 3). I find it ridiculous that we don't have an adjustment in iDrive. I'm going to play with the setting more to see what level suits me best. This was a quick, will it work test? Know what I mean?

I'm not really sure what you are asking, but several of us on the forum have tried coding in options into the HUD and none have worked so far.

Doing more testing. Current setting
33, 66, 00, 00. That's 20%, 40%, 0%, 0,%.

The first set is from 0-8kph (5mph). The second set is from 9-88kph (55mph). The next one will obviously be past 89kph (55mph). I like the 33 when at a dead stop especially if you let the engine turn off. Next going to code B2 or BF (70 or 75%) into the 3rd set and see if I like that volume.

If you're asking why I put kph (being a US car). It's because I had assumed the ranges would be in KM's not Miles so I changed my digital readout to KPH. It really threw me off that the numbers were not 10's or 5's. When I got home I converted it to MPH and then the light came on, lol.

Cool work, if this is really not supported by existing cheat sheets, maybe Almaretto can include it in his mega cheat sheet.

And yes, coding files are all in SI OT: come on US, when are you going to join the rest of the world! Canada changed in 1970, though the construction business in Quebec is still using imperial !

No, I haven't seen it in the cheat sheet. Trust me if it were I would have done this 18 months ago, lol. I did find a generically worded volume setting in the FDL cheat code. It is set for FF, FF, FF, FF. Which would be annoyingly loud.

Interestingly enough, I wasn't even looking for this when I found it. I was searching through the F30 for something else all together. Their is a thread over there, but it didn't come with a conclusion.

I have only seen few useful code discovered very recently. The BF coding community kinda led the way for the Fxx chassis! so even if you think you found something, you search and you search and then its been discovered few years ago or it doesnt work

Doesn't work is very common, lol.

Current test.
33, 66, C0, 00
I found the 4 set of numbers is for 100+ MPH. Interestingly the volume seemed to turn down around 85 and then mutes at 100. I'm guessing it started blending the values between the settings. I like the current settings and think I'll make the last value FF.

I'm thinking 33, 99, C0, FF is probably the most ideal settings for most people. 20%, 60%, 75%, 100%.

You know, now I am curious how I feel regarding the blinker volume, I am gonna do some subjective listening tests I have never paid attention to it, to be honest I didn't even think it was electronic EDIT: ok it sounds fine for me, its even faint with some music on!

I never cared about signal volume, nor has anyone ever asked for it compared to steering wheel vibration level.

Anyone is welcome to submit Cheat Codes. PerryGunn did recently for "Unlock/open the tailgate from fob only if the vehicle is unlocked;" not sure why it disappeared from Git, though.

So it has...

Perhaps I did something wrong - after it was merged it, is showed for a while but has now disappeared. After packetpilot merged it, I received a notification saying that the fork/branch could be deleted, so I did

I've sent an email to packetpilot to ask - I've never used github before so I have a bit of a learning curve…

You did nothing wrong. Hopefully botho will shed some light on it in the git repo on the comment you made in his commit.

I don't typically want any author stepping on other authors' files, and when it happens, I do my best to get sign-off within a few days from the original author. I have a feeling it was an unintentional move on botho 's part but let's handle it in github as intended.

It's easy to make mistakes in git imho; not everyone is familiar with it, and even though I've used it for numerous years, I wouldn't consider myself very familiar--it's a deep tool, and relatively few truly understand it (myself included), as this xkcd comic points out:

I wouldn't have cared either if it wasn't for the fact that my wife's under $20K car has the option in the menu... Honestly, I would have never known it was missing the feature if it wasn't for her car. When we first got this car she said can't you make it quieter? I said nope. She said and I thought this was a luxury car

The other thing her car does that I wish my did... Auto lock when I walk away from the car.

Locking can be coded. Though, I always fold my mirrors so my OCD check can easily visually verify car is secured as I look back.

How do you code auto lock? I've found a code that claimed to do it in the past, but it didn't work. I fold my mirrors as well.

Did you ever find a place in bimmercode for this? Blinker_volume is kinda hidden but I eventually got there. The bad news is I don't think it's the correct option to change.
