What is the software update number or code so I can inform my service department. They say they need to see mine. I have the old colors and want the new ones. I've searched but that thread I think was deleted.

So pitiful. Provided I step # to two different techs at dealer. They say the update is not possible.

Yeah, the response seems to vary quite a bit from dealer to dealer. Part of the issue is that dealers will generally not update a single ECU, so they have to flash the entire car (which takes time).

The instructions were posted in another thread that was deleted, so I sent you a PM.

Have to thank both dmnc02 (dmnc02 wrote a perfect write up on doing this) and Shawn, for the assistance and downloads. Just updated the HUD and I'm loving it. Did freak out bit when it was programming though. IDrive went nuts, then it went to British, then it went nuts again then the car died. Mileage went to 99999, and I'm thinking; what the hell did I just do. After about 8 minutes everything was fine. First time programming, a BMW, and was worried as all hell. Actually broke out an IPA at about 2:30 when it was going crazy. Again thanks guys, you've awoken a monster. Back to the garage.

Now you know what I meant in the write up by "There is going to be a phase between executing the TAL and VO coding the ECU in which you are going to see your instrument cluster behaving oddly and throwing all sorts of error messages: just be aware of this and keep cool!"

The credit goes fully to shawnsheridan on this one: I just wrote down the steps he led me through.

Behaving oddly, is being kind. The darn thing freaked out! Just took a test drive and really will like this HUD much better. Also coded out some other nonsense. Can actually see the darn thing. Again thanks for making a short write up from Shawn. I know he's got to be swampped with people asking for help. Any help you/we can give him is greatly earned. I read the entire thread the two of you had, and it was getting over powering. Your short, too the point write up is what made me attempt this today. So again, thank you. And thanks to Shawn for getting us all to be better with this stuff.

Hey dmnc02 ! I've been searching through this forum and can only seem to find threads referencing this change to DM you for instructions. Seems like some of the site "sponsors" won't allow the procedure to be posted?

Anyway, if you can still share that with me it would be much appreciated! MY15 F82 that wants blue! And your DM is full

Does this M mode view stay on every time you start your car? Mine goes back to just showing the speed reading. Is this normal?

My 2015 and now 2019 returns to speed only when restarted.
I programmed my two M buttons, so one is for neighborhoods the other for fun. But I always have the tack and other information in the display.

Ok. Good to know that this is the default viewing mode.

Same here. My two M buttons show everything.
